Why are critics of the critics of war such morons to think that you can't express an opinion without being blamed for stupid things like this?

They don't hate freedom, they LOVE it! Otherwise they wouldn't be able to speak against the government or the decisions made within it. They wouldn't be able to spit on the uniforms of the soldiers coming back. They wouldn't be able to burn the very flag that they live under and that the dead soldiers coffin is covered with. The very reason we have freedom and others don't is about choices. Anyone can go and live anywhere in the world that they want to, it's called being human. As a rational human-being I love where I live here in the U.S. I love the fact that I served my country for quite a few years, even though it was cut short due to injuries, I loved the experience. People that say "Oh I can't leave and go anywhere", my response is...."You have feet and legs" if not "Hands and Arms". A man in India "rolled" 100 miles for freedom and he had all four limbs. Freedom is not for the lazy! You have to work at it and then once you achieve it you have to work for it and defend it and KEEP it. I have yet to meet any person in any other country that did not want freedom. No one ever walked up to me and said "Yes, keep me oppressed and have people tell me what to do and how to do it for the rest of my life!"
Let me guess...now that I have said that...you will respond with "Look at our laws", "they are controlling"....."Laws and regulations" are meant to keep a balance in society. Whether a government is a Republic, Socialistic, Communistic, or other....none want any type of Anarchy!
Love your freedom, love your choices! If you don't like what is going on speak loudly! If you do, speak loudly! There is always a balance somewhere and at sometime!

I don't care about the Iraqi people. I want my freedom to drive my American Made Car & have gas at a Dollar a gallon again. I want the freedom to be able to speak on the phone again with out the fear of reprisal because I think the jerk in the white house is nothing but a saudi butt kisser.
If you have served in the Military, you would know that the Iraqis hate us. What are we freeing them from ??? Oppression ... what a joke !!! We set up Saddam back in the 80's to run the country so we could reap the benefits of cheap oil. If anything rumsfeld & cheney should be apologizing for all the people that their stooge killed.
Read your newspapers and stop beliving what the bush heads are telling you. Next as a Veteran, I can speak about war and I oppose it. You want to tow the line, then step right up. Its a volenteer service, put you money when your keyboard is at.
Freedom isn't free, but I'm not wasting my time on a bunch of nomadic camel jockeys that have been fighting for the last thousand years amoungst themselves and dont apprieciate the sacrifice.

No we're not, we're in Iraq because there was proof that Saddam had WMD's.
Oh, wait. He didn't. Oops.
Well, we're still going to be greeted as liberators.
D'oh!
Oh, that's right, it's because Iraq was involved in the 9/11 attacks.
Hold on, Hussein had no contact with bin Laden.
He was responsible for killing a lot of Kurds. As the most powerful nation in the world, it is our responsibility to stand up for world human rights (unless that nation doesn't have oil- see Darfur)!
That being said, your question is actually a statement: "Critics of the war in Iraq hate freedom." That is an idiotic statement to make. There are Patriots who are opposed to the war and there are Patriots who are in favor of the war.

I do not hate freedom. I want to be sure that the people I am trying to "free" want MY brand of freedom. I am opposed to the war in Iraq because the war was started under false pretenses and has lasted longer than it should. And I do not hate the soldiers, they are doing a job that is hard and doesn't get enough positive attention. I send phone cards to soldiers, I make Holiday gift baskets for deployed troops EVERYWHERE. I just don't agree with shoving "freedom" down someone's throat, with no clear plan to return their country to them. Do not label me, just ask my reasons. I think your view is rather simplistic, and I long to be so naive once again. However, I am older and thus, more jaded. I know the world has many shades of gray, not just your Black and White assesment.

People dislike the war for many reasons. I think it is safe to say that few critics actually hate freedom... I think maybe the majority of critics are tired of the U.S. playing hero and fighting other people's wars....

I think it's shallow to say they hate freedom. I look at it like, why do we need to enforce freedom on another country/culture at such great expense. And even that is only half the story.

Opposing war does not mean you hate freedom. In America we are blessed to have the freedom of speech.
Iraq has been liberated from a ruthless murdering dictator. I think citizens of the US would like to have some idea of when our troops will come home.

Freedom is chaotic, of course!
Check out the lawless places of the world, like most of Somalia and parts of Sudan. People are free to do whatever they want! Isn't that grand?
