I'm doing a paper on passive euthanasia so obviously the whole Terri Schiavo case is included. I have a bunch of information, but I can't seem to find why it took so long for the judge to rule in favor of Michael. If he was her legal guardian, why was there such a fuss? Shouldn't he have just been able to decide, as her parents were no longer considered her legal guardian? I can't find the answer to this anywhere, so please help!

Thanks!

The reading performance of children in England has fallen from third to 19th in the world in a major assessment.

The Progress in International Reading Literacy Study (Pirls), undertaken every five years, involved children aged about 10 in 40 countries.

Scotland also fell, from 14th to 26th. Russia, which matched it last time, was top of the overall achievement table.

Which is worse:

Bush and company lying about the existence of WMDs in Iraq and going into the war under a false pretense...

or

Bush and company (EVERONY Bush put around him) getting duped by bad intel... getting SO duped that they got us into the war?

i contend that Bush lying is more EVIL... but bush and company getting duped is far more dangerous.

Ok so I'm not stupid enough to do this but my friend kept bugging me about it. I told her no but she won't let it go. She keeps saying that nothing can happen to me, she would only get in trouble.. but I beg to differ. I was just wondering EXACTLY what could happen if she got caught with a copy of my ID. I live in the state of PA. Any actual proof from websites or anything would help. I couldn't find anything but I know it'd be a bad situation. Thank you! Just wanna prove her wrong!

Why is it great though? By forcing people to be equal and to share? People aren't equal. And so they don't deserve equal pay, equal life styles, equal anything other then equal oppurtunitiy. People differ in an infinite amount of ways. Some people are more ambitious and hard working while others are lazy and incompetent. Those that are lazy and incompetent DO NOT deserve any of the fruits of hard worker's labour nor do they deserve to benefit and share their meagle crap with someone who worked hard on what they earn. Communism is not good on paper, in theory, or in practice. If there is anything in this world that is truly evil, it would be communism

What do you think of this story? Is this the weirdest EU story yet?

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2007/11/29/ntroops229.xml

The fighting capability of the Army's new generation of armoured vehicles could be limited by European rules on greenhouse gas emissions.

To avoid breaching the EU rules, the 3,000 vehicles must be specially designed to limit the damage to the environment in the battlefield.

However, critics claim that this could compromise their fighting effectiveness and say protecting British troops should take priority over complying with the regulations.

So I'm a recruit in the Navy recruit in the Dep program and I seem to be having some problems with my recruiter. Here in Illinois its 2:47 pm and my recruiter was supposed to pick me up at 1:30 so that I could get my stuff signed off in the back of my Dep book. So since he has blown me off today i haven't seen him in about a month and a half. And this is the second time we have planned to do something and he has not called to inform me that he is not going to be showing up, so i end up wasting my whole day waiting for him to come pick me up (i am car-less) and he NEVER calls. A normal person probably wouldnt get so annoyed by this, but Im completely anal about being on time/early and if I cant make it I always call. I'm excpected to do all these things to get ready (I leave for traingin on Feb 26th) and he cant even bother to call? So my question is what can I do about this? Should I talk his supervisor or should I try to switch recruiters? Thanks for your help in advance!

When I called the manager of the apartment complex to let her know I was getting a dish, she said it wasn't allowed and hung up the phone on me while I was explaining there was a federal law that says she can't refuse tenants cable. I'm nervous about dealing with her again because she is the type of person who would try to have me evicted, or keep my deposit even though there is no damage to my apt. I would like to get her in trouble. Can she be fined for refusing me cable?
