I've seen the wanted picture for the Son of Sam and looked NOTHING like David Berkowitz. The wanted picture depicted a young male, thin, with wavy hair, and was said to have been Latino.

When Berkowitz was caught he was overweight, balding, and was Jewish. Where the hell did the "witnessess" come from who depicted the totally different person in the wanted picture?

Those who are aware how communists and socialists operate, know they have to create distrust, to fool people, to support them. No one would choose a socialist or communist society if it was presented honestly without bias.

Can you imagine telling people to turn in their posessions and freedom to government and hope this new governement will be free of corruption, will provide you a better life (without freedom) and won't execute you (Papa Stalin).

N0, they need minions like Michael Moore to create distrust, carefully targeting the fabric of capitalistic society-
Faith- intolerance of Christianity, portraying all Christians as nut-job fundamentalists
Marriage- trivilializing marriage, supporting gay marriage and "shallow" marriages
Family- look at minorities, exploited by liberals, now have more single parent families than ever
Patriotism- recall how liberals acted like vampires in daylight when the country briefly pulled together after 911?
Capitalism- demonizing it

I am asking this question because I was struck by an answer given to another query, when I asked if Abe Lincoln could win an election. One person said he would vote for Abe, as long as he was in the Republican Party. I have never belonged to a political party and my vote has jumped from Republican to Democrat to Independent. I always felt I should weigh the issues and vote for the best man to follow the issues I believed in. Sometimes I was mistaken, but I tried. My question is, do you vote for a Political Party, or do you vote for a Person running for office, no matter what Party affiliation he or she has? Do you think a person should stick with one party or listen to the individual beliefs of those running for office and make a choice? I realize this is a hard one, because most of our candidates on each side seem to say the same thing. But think about it, and give me a good answer...just how do you select your choice?

WAYS TO BE A GOOD DEMOCRAT

1. You have to be against capital punishment, but support abortion on demand.

2. You have to believe that businesses create oppression and governments create prosperity.

3. You have to believe that guns in the hands of law-abiding Americans are more of a threat than U.S. nuclear weapons technology in the hands of Chinese and North Korean communists.

4. You have to believe that there was no art before Federal funding.

5. You have to believe that global temperatures are less affected by documented cyclical changes in the earth's climate and more affected by soccer moms driving SUV's.

6. You have to believe that gender roles are artificial but being homosexual is natural.

7. You have to believe that the AIDS virus is spread by a lack of federal funding.

8. You have to believe that the same teacher who can't teach fourth graders how to read is somehow qualified to teach those same kids about sex.

etc., etc. and a bunch more nonsense.

Yep , I got over 1300 - ONE THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED - abusive emails from 3 users in less than 24 hours . Far too vulgar to post a copy of any of them here .. . . . although I'd like to .

Anyways I got several responses from Customer Care(or whatever they're called) and they said they were concerned and took 'Appropriate Action' . But that's a lie too cause I got 300 more this morning from 2 of the guys who I had Blocked !!

These sick individuals are 'deCONstruction' , 'Justgoodfolk' , and 'Count Acumen' . .. . . just in case you get attacked by them I thought you should know they've done it many times before .

So what is the Punishment for such acts ?

Is there a better way to report this behavior to make it stop ?

Sharia Law seems to be a nonsensical set of rules based not on morals but on speculative judgements based on the Koran. The Koran is obviously a text written in a historical context (percentiley by clinically mad and drug addled, however also with some input from normal people) - How can any procedures built in this historical context be relevant morally or legally?

Particularly though I would like some explanations of why it is in practice in multifaith countries (aren't all countries multifaith?)?

Thanks

I'm trying to find out someone's name. When I was in college, I took a political science class in which we were learning about public opinion of police. In my text book, I read a true story about a college professor who used to be very critical of police officers for being paranoid. Some of his students were officers, and said he did not know what it was like. He took that as a challenge: He applied, finished his academy training, and became an officer. It was educational for him and he learned to be a lot more empathetic to police.
That was the last I ever heard of this man. Has anyone heard of this and do you know his name or more info about him?

I was a regular in this part of Y!A until the Repubs vs Dems fight bored the hell outta me. Thats when I decided to explore Y!A a bit more. Just decided to pay a little visit here and see how things are.

So is it still the same 'ole Politics sections where Repubs and Dems indulge in mud-slinging rather than doing something to actually help their nation? Or have things improved here?

I live in PA and in Aug. 05, I had sold a car for $600 and regretfully I accepted a personal check. The check bounced and the person fled the state.
I checked with the local magistrate and went through the bad check form process but kept on getting it denied because the D.A. didn't like to put exactly what was wrong with it.
So I sent out about 3-4 letters out to her old address in PA and nothing has happened ever since.

They also told me that there is a 2 year time limit to file charges--it is beyond that now and I moved about 5 hours away from that area.

Does anyone know if a lawyer can still help because recently I found out she was back in PA and I found out that she can possibly go to jail and pay back 3 times the amount of the check.

Do I still have time--does anyone in the legal field know?

Ok, I'm writing a paper about the pros and cons of Plea Bargaining. I know the pros and cons in my head, but trying to write them out on paper is another thing (Especially when I need 10 pages worth).

I will vote the best answer to this question based on:

*Whoever can provide the most straight-forward list of pros and cons to plea bargaining.

Sounds simple enough, but I stress - I don't want to have to read a 5 page article to find these points. I want each seperate point staring me right in the face, from the get-go. I can easily write about why/how/examples that backup each pro or con myself. I just need to gather my arguments and get them orgainzed before I start my paper.

You can make the list yourself, or link me to a site that has them clearly laid out.

***Here's how I'd PREFER (not neccessary though) to have the points categorized:

Pros to the Defendant
Pros to the criminal justice system

Cons to the Defendant
Cons to the criminal justice system

Thx!

I know this sounds like an easy "Yes" answer, but poker is definitely a different kind of gambling than roulette, craps, or playing the lottery. Poker takes skill unlike casino-type games. Should online poker be illegal just like those other online gambling games, or should poker be an exemption since it is a game of skill.

The United States persists in responding to symptoms rather than to underlying conditions by trying to address every conflict by military means. It backs the Ethiopian army in Somalia. It occupies Iraq and Afghanistan. It threatens to bomb Iran. It supports the military dictatorship in Pakistan.

None of these military actions addresses the problems that led to conflict in the first place. On the contrary, American policies typically inflame the situation rather than solve it.

Time and again, this military approach comes back to haunt the US. The US embraced the Shah of Iran by sending massive armaments, which fell into the hands of Iran’s Revolutionary Government after 1979. The US then backed Saddam Hussein in his attack on Iran, until the US ended up attacking Saddam himself. The US backed Osama bin Laden in Afghanistan against the Soviets, until the US ended up fighting bin Laden. Since 2001 the US has supported Pervez Musharraf in Pakistan with more than $10 billion in aid,

I worked in a poultry processing plant in Wisconsin... I know gross but paid the bills and took care of my daughter while I was going to school... anyways... I worked nights... 10:45 to 7:25 well... I worked on a line with 5 other workers, all who spoke Spanish (no English) and all who were from Mexico...

Now as I got to know them and took the time to learn their language friendships formed (I was also the only girl so everyone was always willing to help) now when Fridays would roll around we would all compare checks... we all worked the same hours, we were all hired for the same special skilled line...

Now on some of the checks people would have the same taxes out as me but 3 out of the five paid no federal and hardly any Wisconsin tax...I would be getting a 350 (on a good week) dollar check after taxes and other deductions and they would be making 500+.... how can people say that they are paying taxes when there is no way for them to collect on it so they are claiming high numbers of dependents (which means they aren’t paying hardly anything to nothing for those of you who know nothing about our tax system)....now this is just an example... How many people have seen this before?....

Also, I found out some real names to these employees and told my supervisor...isn’t it her job to report them to ICE or immigration so the company doesn’t get fined for having illegal work there?...
