Illegals and Taxes?

I worked in a poultry processing plant in Wisconsin... I know gross but paid the bills and took care of my daughter while I was going to school... anyways... I worked nights... 10:45 to 7:25 well... I worked on a line with 5 other workers, all who spoke Spanish (no English) and all who were from Mexico...

Now as I got to know them and took the time to learn their language friendships formed (I was also the only girl so everyone was always willing to help) now when Fridays would roll around we would all compare checks... we all worked the same hours, we were all hired for the same special skilled line...

Now on some of the checks people would have the same taxes out as me but 3 out of the five paid no federal and hardly any Wisconsin tax...I would be getting a 350 (on a good week) dollar check after taxes and other deductions and they would be making 500+.... how can people say that they are paying taxes when there is no way for them to collect on it so they are claiming high numbers of dependents (which means they aren’t paying hardly anything to nothing for those of you who know nothing about our tax system)....now this is just an example... How many people have seen this before?....


Also, I found out some real names to these employees and told my supervisor...isn’t it her job to report them to ICE or immigration so the company doesn’t get fined for having illegal work there?...

you can believe what you want...and yes we always compared checks... i have no reason to lie on the net... what would i have to gain? this is a valid question... not all companies are the same... you should stop being so dense and realize that... i can name another one in my area that knowingly hires illegals... i work at that one now... it is also America's number one selling furniture brand...

sorry to burst your bubble but people don't file taxes every year... they can work in one place with one set of papers for a few years before people start the question their taxes.... check ur info... i tutor a lot of these people in English, i am friends with a lot of them... i know how it works first hand...

first off i do not have a fake account! send me an IM if you want.. secondly it was the only way i could pay for college because of all the aid i don't qualify for... being white and all... so what would you do... work to create a better future for yourself or i could just suck on the welfare system like so many other people do... i have never once touched aid... ever... and i will never do it unless i have no other way...

colleges need a number of minority students and i live in a mostly white area right now... and i did have a good GPA 3.8 my dad just happened to make too much money that i didn't qualify for anything... another example of needing minorities... the nursing home where my aunt works needs a new bus now they aren't getting it because they don't meet "minority qualifications" its not our fault that this part of the country is prominently white..

i was in band, choir, drama club and i was a cheerleader throughout middle school and two years in high school and i got hurt... i didn't run track or anything because of that problem... wasn't physically able to just like i can't join the military... the point im trying to make isn't about who can pay for college and who cant you are going off subject im trying to make a point about taxes and i have people have said they have seen it too... i have a college education now so don't get off subject... i paid for it myself by hard work and grit...traits of a true American...

I can tell you for a fact that when an employer sends in an I-9 and it comes back as no match rarely if ever does that employee get sent packing. Ive worked in the personell dept for a temp agency and my wife works for a call center (she's seen it too) why they are havent taxes taken out is a total mystery having worked in payroll. But i can tell you this; 20 million+ illegals didnt arrive overnight, they were let through by an administration(s) that do the bidding of the investor class who want desparately to drive wages down and not have to pay for things like; safety in the workplace, workers comp etc. This = more profit since outsourcing has hit its limitations. By ramming the middle class with the complicity of the officials they stand to gain everything. There is no loyalty to your fellow american when it comes to making a profit off some illegals back as opposed to paying you a fair wage. What "they" fail to realize is - is that this will turn around and bite them. They will group together and either build thier own furniture factory and put your boss out of business or as they learn what rights they have they will start demanding more money and doing less work. The stereo type that "they" work harder than americans is like saying all blacks like fried chicken. It simply isnt true, neither are all americans sick with the 'entitlement' syndrome and lazy. It is your employers job to terminate them after reporting them to ICE but dont hold your breath on ICE. There is a car theft ring just blocks from me and they have more cars in and around thier house than a car lot. A couple of them have been deported more than once and they are able to come back and resume business as usual. And this is a middle class neighborhood no slum. And yup, they are probably claiming a high number of exemptions because they know they will never file taxes. Our system is overwhelmed and falling apart at the seams. No one seems to really give a damn anymore, our officials are only out for themselves. 30 trillion $ has left this country from the war effort, illegally traded stocks on foreign exchanges (defense technologies) and corporate financial scandals. America is being looted, thats why they dont care about whats happening to the middle class.

As per some of the other anwsers above, the tax was ratified by congress. As for people who have won tax cases based on this claim. No one has won a case on the consitutional grounds. There have been some intersesting cases where a person pleaded not guilty on the grounds that they BELIEVED they didn't have to pay taxes. Since the criminal laws relating to income taxes generally require that you knowing fail perform a legal duty. These cases, however, fail all the time, since most juries see though the pretense. In this case common sense should tell you that if someone could have beaten it, they would have, and every person and corporation would know of it.

I've seen it. And pointing out the problems associated with illegal immigrants and the tax system doesn't make you a racist, it just makes you an American. However. I wouldn't work for a company that hires illegals. Report them.

The new line about them paying taxes only came about after it was pointed out how many social services they use without paying taxes. Just more propaganda from the illegal alien lobby.

These companies bring them here on purpose to drive down wages.

thats true....my husband pays all the taxes and claims dependants that he really does have since he can file them at the end of the year with an itin number but his brother on the other hand has no kids and doesnt file taxes at the end of the year so he claims as many dependants as possible and their job know but doesnt care.....but they do use their real names.

I worked HR department for years in a construction company is SW FL....we had plenty of illegals...and they all paid taxes..SS and Federal.
