It is a lawful requirement of any asylum seeker to seek refuge in the first safe country they reach. Well France is before us, so why are they locking them up and then turning a blind eye when they smuggle themselves over here? Because they are clever b******s and we are mugs. There is no argument in law here, if an asylum seeker has passed through a safe country and then lands on Britains doorstep, send them back to the other country. That is the law after all, why should it work for them and not for us?

If there is proof that they have been in a safe country before arriving in the UK they are returned to that country. There is an agreement between a number of countries called the Dublin Convention that support this.

The asylum seekers' laws were passed after the genuine horrific persecution of many minority ethnic peoples during WWII. They were not meant to handle the many bogus asylum seekers who are leaving their countries for economic reasons, but claiming that they are being persecuted.
