The minimum age for DRINKING alchohol in a public house is 5 years old under special circumstances.
Ask any landlord!
There are laws governing unfit parents which apply outside of that, administering noxious substances, reckless endangerment,etc.
As it stands you have to be 18 to BUY alchohol or derivatives of such.
Some stores have there own rules requiring you to be older than that!

The legal age in the UK is 18 to buy anything alcoholic,you must be 18 to sell anything alcoholic also.you must be 18 also to buy or sell anything made of tobacco now also.

you have to be 18 cause they still consider it alcohal, but now there using this think 21 where if you don't look over 21 they ask you for I.D, and next year the alcohal age restrictions is meant to be going up
