I use to be around this Y!A in the immigration some time ago (months and months) and there were all these people in here talking about how great this amnesty was going to be and how they were going to laugh in our faces when it passed and all the illegals were made legal...

Where are those people now?

Just wondering.

I was in the Armed Forces from 1968 to 1972 during the Viet-Nam war. I voluntiered for world wide overseas duty and I was sent to Thule Greenland for a year. (That's another story) The only hats that I can find that involve Viet-Nan Says "Viet-Nam Veteran" and it has the ribbons that a service man would receive for serving in Viet-Nam. Is it appropriate for me to be able to wear this hat even though I never saw Viet-Nam and am just considered a Viet-Nam era Veteran? It would be very embaracing for me if a true Viet-Nam veteran saw me wearing this hat and as we start talking about Viet-Nam, he asked me where I was stationed in Viet-Nam? Ahhhhhhh, I never saw Viet-Nam, but I was in the service between 68 and 72 and considered a Viet-Nam era Veteran.

Is it proper for me to be able to wear this type of hat?

This is a serious question! I really don't know and I'm looking for statistics.

Personally I think that illegal aliens probably have a higher crime rate than the US average but not much higher when you account for income and geography.

If I was an illegal than I would try to be as honest as I could because I don't want any contact with the police or legal system if I can help it.

I think that is a reasonable attitude so I think that many illegals think the same too.

What do you think?

House Republicans are circulating a petition on the House Floor that would force Speaker Nancy Pelosi to allow all pork barrel spending waste to be debated and publicly scrutinized.

Nancy Pelosi herself is in the top of the list of creating million dollar do nothing spending programs. All together programs like hers costs taxpayers billions of dollars. Her own do nothing programs are designed just to help her get re-elected. The programs take U.S. federal taxpayer money and spend it her own congressional district in San Francisco. She is in the top three of the list of wasteful spending projects with Murtha being number one.

This petition will not succeed without the support of fiscally responsible Democrats.

I have to do a research paper for a class and I was wondering if I could ask ya'll for some info.

I don't know if this is correct but-did the time for overseas deployment change from 1 year to 15 months? If so, then when and why?

What is the max time that you can be deployed?

Does the deployment time change from different military branches? For example, in the Army would then time be different then say, the Marines?

Would time be dependent on situation?

Are there any regulations the military must follow when deploying a person? Such as they have to be home so many months, etc.

In your opinion why is this a good idea/bad idea?

thank you all so much! :)

Since Babs Boxer brought up that bill about slowing down the enforcement of the immigration laws we haven't heard too much of what ICE is doing. Is it the media helping the dumbocrats, or that ICE is slacking down due to pressure by Babs? Hmmm I wonder.

I see that a lot from some antis.

Yes I know what illegal entry means. Yes I know that it's not right.

Yes I believe that a country's immigration laws should be what that country's citizens decide.

No I Don't think that because I'm concerned about some people and groups using illegal immigration as an excuse for selling racial hatred that means I'm "pro criminal".

No I Don't think that because I'm concerned about due prosess and government acting outside the law means I'm "pro criminal".

No I Don't think that because I don't hate on people just for illegal immigration that means I'm "pro criminal".

What do you think?

While this is a boon to me personally because some of my investments pay in foreign currency and while the drop in the value may actually help place American goods in foreign markets or spur tourism to the US, I think the long term problem will be sliding faith in our ability to repay massive debts.

Am I just being a worry-wart here? Is there a bright side I'm not seeing a year or two down the road?

I'm astonished that so many are spending time bashing candidates but not questioning what got us to this pass or what to do next.
