Yes, the inflated sense of self-entitlement their religion and worship of money gives them this ridiculous notion. Sadly, too many democratic suckers go along with it.

I think that's pretty damned funny! I live in Alaska, where hunting, fishing, trapping, dog mushing and - gasp! - even wearing fur is not only traditional, but a part of every day life up here. Yet that NEVER stops bleeding hearts from outside trying to butt into our business all the time. Now, I know that all Democrats - or even all liberals - are not insane, but those of you who are - DAMN.

I know of FAR too many cases of "tolerant" liberals harassing the hell out of law-abiding hunters, trappers, and mushers - you wouldn't believe how many of them send death threats. For what? If you don't like the laws, go through the government. I know of a local trapper who finally had to call the FBI on a group - after 7 years of endless harassment. And TONS of death threats - death threats that included his child.

Fur is a non-polluting, fully-renewable resource. Wildlife needs to be managed, after all - just like the forests do. Yet the left opposes both. You complain about pollution, but expect me to wear all man-made materials to stay warm? That doesn't make sense. Here's a hint - the reason so many of the local Natives still wear fur? It's warm. Period.

I was brainwashed in school about the "evils" of logging. Then, I married into a logging family, and actually learned the TRUTH about modern logging. Forest management is a beautiful thing - it keeps the forest healthy, it helps with the wildlife management - yet the left insists it's all wrong. Heck, in Oregon, they even had some liberidiots protest loggers going back through a BURNT forest to salvage anything viable. That's completely ignoring reality.

You guys complain (rightfully) about our dependency on oil, yet you also oppose nuclear energy, wind farms, etc. You can't have it both ways.

...and like the Democrats don't feel the same thing? C'mon!

There is red paint on both sides of this fence, buddy. Dems and the GOP polticians BOTH do two things: The create taxes and they create legistaltion. Therefore BOTH parties tell me what I can do with my money and what I can't do in my personal life.

They all tell us what we can teach kids in school, how fast we can drive, where we can smoke, how long I have to wait to buy a gun, how much of my paycheck is going to the government and when to turn my clocks back in the fall.

Its interesting that you mention this. Republicans like to claim that they are conservatives. Conservatives used to believe that government should stay out of peoples lives as much as possible. They despised liberals for wanting to use government to tell people how to live their lives. Now the new conservatives are doing the same thing.

The answer to your question is that some do. Same with democrats. There is less real difference between the parties then we are led to believe.

Do you really need the feel to have other people tell you what to do? Not me; I don't care who is in the White House. I live my life the way I want to, not how others want me to.

We New Yorkers have a Democratic governor (Spitzer) who is trying to ram driver licenses for illegal aliens down our throats even though 77% of all New York State residents are against rewarding criminals with drivers licenses.

Your joking, right ? The republican party has always been about less Government and more freedom.....albeit...more freedom also meaning more responsibility.
Its the democrats that have the vision of a socialist Government. They want to raise your taxes and institute more programs that they say will soak the rich but ends up intruding on your life. Take the Alternative Minimum tax. Democrats came up with it, they sponsored it, they passed it, now if they don't do something about it, it will ensnare 20 million people....and it generates 65 billion dallars it was never meant to generate. Yet they don't want to all together repeal it, they just want to fix it during an election year.
The democrats also want to repeal the Bush tax cuts which have stimulated the economy.
They wanted to also expand the Schips program so it would cover more than just the poor children of America while lying and saying that Bush was going to cut it. Bush raised it 4 Billion.
Not sure if your referring to a specific initiative, but I assure you I could go on and on with all the invasion on the Democratic side regarding more taxes, expanding programs, Pork projects, earmarks, adding more big Government. Please don't make me get carpal tunnel by typing it all.

Most people feel they have the right to tell others how to live.

At the same time most people also feel the have the right to live as they choose.

That's the root cause of most conflict and wars.

So long as you want to live your life exactly as they want you to then you have absolute freedom to live it however you want.
If you want to have control over your own body and reproductive system, or choose to fall in love and marry someone of the same gender then no - they have to tell you how to live.

I think your argument was pretty successfully shot down so I won't bother to go into everything you're wrong about.

Like Brando said, vote Libertarian.
