I am an extremely well qualified candidate for NF (nuclear field). I received a 90 on the ASVAB and I have all of the high school class qualifications. I am currently being considered for the NROTC scholarship for OSU (to hopefully be a nuke officer). The only bad thing that I have against me is that I am colorblind. I failed the colorblind test at MEPS during my DEP physical. Is their a way that I could get a waiver so that I could serve in the Navy (at least enlisted) as a nuke, or in any other field that requires "normal color perception."

If you think inaction is justifiable.. should the U.S. have intervened in Europe when the invasion of Poland was clearly imminent? What is the difference?

This is America, and we can afford $2-trillion wars and tax cuts. But, there's one thing we can't afford, and that's health care for sick kids?

Now, I know socialized medicine sounds like Stalin himself is going to come over to your house and perform a forced sterilization. But, really all it is, is universal health care. Which means everybody - not just the rich - gets to see a doctor when their erection lasts longer than 72 hours.

Please remember that if you hear the new radio ad from Rudy Giuliani, who says his chances of surviving prostate cancer in America were 82%, whereas, in England, under "socialized medicine," his chances would have been 44%. Numbers that, like the cancer, were pulled directly out of Rudy's behind.

The neighbor upstairs from me has 3 children and she does not have a job. There are people in and out of her apartment all day and night. She always acts like she is on drugs and I am quit postive that she deals drugs. Can I call the police without having proof or evidence except for what I see all day? I am concerned for her children and I am not comfortable with strangers wandering by my apartment. I don't want to move I was here way before her..

The nominee for Attorney General, Michael Mukasey, is facing tough questions about water boarding, whether it should be considered torture or not.
Tell me, what do you think Al Quida, the Taliban or other terrorists think about this? Do you think they will change their ways and become our friends if the nominee calls water boarding torture and vows to stop it or do you think they are laughing hysterically as they make more IED's and bomb vests?

I noticed that many people, regardless of political affiliation, are bothered by the "press one for English" ordeal. It used to bother me until I realized that Europeans speak 3 or 4 different languages. Yet, many Americans can't even master the English language. Wouldn't it be great if America became more cultured and more affluent in other languages.
However, many people believe learning Spanish enables illegal immigrants. They also believe that this is an English speaking country. But what's wrong with broadening ourselves like the Europeans?! What's your opinion?!

Yahoo! was a stool pigeon for the communist Chinese government.
Their ratting out of a Chinese journalist to the government led to the journalist getting arrested and thrown into jail.

Yahoo! doesn't seem to have a problem punishing some of us if we violate some of their guidelines - and I would argue that some of those guidelines are very vague.

I was given this question in class today:
There are often conflicts between the levels of government. For ex: The issue of education. What is another example of an issue that has become a problem because of differing ideas/laws from the state to the federal level?

And here's what I've got for an answer: (What do you think?)

The first thing that comes to mind on conflicting ideas/laws is the serious issue of illegal immigration - to be more specific, providing illegal aliens with worker ID's and Driver's Licenses. A Minnesota state senator and NY Governor, Eliot Spitzer, stated that they were in favor of providing worker ID cards to illegal immigrants. Providing them with valid identification, allowing them to board planes!

Here's where I'm going with this - There is no federal law that prohibits it! The vast majority of states are strongly opposing this, but as you know, Federal Law trumps state law.

Does it even pertain to the question? Please help!
Thanks.

I have an employer that I had to quit abrubtly due to a family emergency that forced me out of town for almost a month now, and I requested a simple letter from my ex-employer to state that I quit on such-n-such date and that I quit under good terms. Just to keep in my personal file. They, however, state they do not find it necessary to do so. What can I do other than go hire a lawyer? I just want something on record so when I put this on my resume, and my next employer calls them up, they cannot say anything besides the truth of how I left. (I hope that made sense)

Holy crap more than twice as many votes as the second leading candidate. Notice the two with the most votes didn't vote for the Iraq war but Obama said he would bomb Iran.

This question is for a genius .

This is the pay rate for a judge in my county The $140,000 I mentioned in the question .
.
It gets tricky and only a genius can answer this right .

How if my taxes are used to pay them can they even pay a tax with money they got from taxes I paid . Lets say I had to pay their entire salary for the year $140,000.00 If they pay 30% or so in taxes to the government then $43,000 . or so would go back to the government .
" SO I really only would have to pay $97,000. for the Judge saving me $43,000."
Now cops make about $43,000. a year And we will say you pay for their wages -----pretend you are rich and can for a moment .
Now the Cop pays about $12,000. a year to the government .
SO lets see the two of us paid in $183,000. and they only got to keep $128,000. so where is the missing $55,000. we paid out to them in the first place .

Help me here and you play with the numbers and explain it to me .

I am from India and currently in US for my studies. On a whim and on my friend's invitation I decided to go to London for Thanksgiving.

Since it was a last minute decision, I applied for a UK Visa completed all online formalities and sent my documents which were received by the NY British Consulate-General on Oct 29.
In their mail they said they will take 5 working days.

Its been 7 days now and I haven't yet heard anything from them. I called the embassy on their number but their number has a stock recorded message and no helpful pointers.

Has anyone had experience with NY British Embassy? How long does the mail-in application visa actually take?

I am getting nervous as my journey date is fast approaching and I seem to have to have no way of getting updates on my application status!

Do you think that the government should just "SEND THEM BACK TO THEIR OWN COUNTRY" or that they're "TAKING OUR JOBS"?? If you answered YES to either one of these questions, you are a racist. You should really re-examine yourself and ask yourself this question:

Why is the USA, which was originally made of immigrants (save the Native Americans) so NEGATIVE towards legalizing all of these illegals?

What's so wrong with the idea of giving people a chance to legalize when, if not given a chance, will still be here doing whatever they're doing regardless of the fact of citizenship?! It will actually SAVE the US billions of dollars in police and judicialwork.

Someone explain.

I just graduated from Marine Corps recruit training and was wondering what I will be doing? My MOS is 0621 Field Radio Operator. Am I going to be one of those guys carrying a giant radio on his back and walking the terrorist streets with the grunts? Because I hope not. I am really hoping I stay on base wiring up buildings and stuff and repairing things.
