I recently saw 2 people who alluded to Bush stealing the old election. I know one of them is intelligent, so that surprised me.

And for the final time, no matter how much you hate Bush and/or don't like reality, they counted those ballets 4 times BEFORE the US Supreme Court stopped the counting with an additional count after the official counting ended. In each count, no matter who counted and how they were supervised (Gore's and Clinton's people were all over it) Bush still won. Period.

The Supreme Court was Clinton's for 8 years, so why do people assume they were in Bush's pocket? They were about evenly divided between conservatives and liberals plus all the judges were approved by congress. The rule of law was followed, every single step of the way.

It is history and reality. No matter how badly you don't like reality, it is still reality. Gore lost by a slim margin that was verified by Gore's and Clinton's own people. Enough already, OK?

So what happened to the big hurricane season that global warming was supposed to cause? Whoever got hit by one isn't happy, but compared to the last couple years, this year was nothing. So is global warming over then?

....and now, solar panels are causing big trouble for firefighters. Seems you can't turn off the juice. So the fire department has to let them burn to the ground so they don't get electricuted. With all the bull about Global Warming, people have been rushing out to get solar. I wonder if they get enough carbon offsets to rebuild their house.

Who wants to follow these green morons that just can't get anything right?

Mr. Cameron appeared to be playing the populist card, with one of Michael Howard's 'dog whistle' issues - immigration - ('come to Darren, Tyson'), and of course his prose was given the usual acres of space in the Sun, Daily Mail, etc...but is it not true his party as a whole welcome what is happening - and thus realise it's necesary to plan for an increase in population.

wow, everyone having healthcare and not having to talk to an insurance company before seing a doctor is a bad thing? Are republicans really THAT blind that they can't see Bull s#@% when they see it? Romney says he doesn't trust the government to deliver his mail... but he does, everything he sends from his office is sent by the US Postal service. For all of these candidates, campaigning has been their sole focus. By the time the elections finally roll around, most will have campaigned full-time for nearly two years. This relegates their duties in Congress to part-time status. Given that all these public servants are living proof that Congress is legitimately a part-time job, shouldn't the job of Representative or Senator go back to being part-time like it used to be?

...by what he said on last night's Jay Leno show ? I was never really an avid, well informed supporter of Paul's, but liked his ideas on Iraq and strict adherence to Constitutional ideals...

...but WoW. The guy wants to simply do away with ALOT of institutions of government. Dept Energy, Dept Education, the IRS etc etc...I think his ideas work fine for government on a small scale...but I just don't see how such a philosophy can be SUCCESSFULLY applied to governing the USA. It was an interesting interview.

I don't think so.

From watching the Republican debates, I get the feeling it's a competition over who's more likely to launch another war. It's all about bravado instead of actually thinking things through.

Like I said. There is nothing brave about sending other people's kids to war behind the safety of a desk.
