According to this article in the Mail. Brown is ready to do a U turn and do just that because of immigration causing housing shortages!

The green belt is an outdated concept and it should be built on, the man in charge of guarding our countryside said yesterday.
Sir Martin Doughty, head of Natural England, called for a review of the protected land around urban areas, saying it should be converted into 'something that adds value'

To me the green belt IS something of immense value and it should be preserved! What do you think?

Just curious - if our choice for the next President were either an atheist or a Muslim, which would most Americans vote for?

I'm going with the atheist myself.

I personally don't care about illegals or people entering US illegally as long as they don't personally mess with me. However, I found it interesting that United States is know as "THE PARADISE FOR ILLEGALS" in South Korea. I think this is a huge shame on us Americans that our country has won that kind of reputation. Anyone can guess why out immigration law is fundamentally flawed?

I know he's a public figure which means he couldn't, but my question is if President Bush were a private citizen and business owner and Joe Wilson went to the media telling the lies he did about him and his "company", could President Bush sue him?

And before anyone says Joe Wilson didn't lie, please read this article that states that a bipartisan Senate Intelligence Committee found that Wilson was lying about his findings in Niger, that Wilson was lying about documents being fake (we didn't even have them until 8 months after his trip, and Wilson never saw them), that Wilson was lying about his wife recommending him for the job (she did), that Wilson was lying about his memo being circulated and that he was lying about the CIA telling the White House it had doubts about the Yellowcake intelligence:

Met a Mexican National Woman on a weekend summer vacation in Mexico. Two months later I was contacted by her saying she is pregnant and wants support.

Is it possible for her to obtain and enforce a Mexican Support Order against me since I am a US citizen and a resident of both California and Pennsylvania.

This woman has no VISA and is unable to travel to the US.

E. Coli which is found in feces could easily be on their hands when they pick the produce. Even washing it off with water is not effective in preventing you from getting sick.

"The video, "Welcome: Portraits of America," is to be played at select airports in the United States - starting at Dulles International Airport outside Washington, D.C., and George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston - and at U.S. embassies abroad.

About four minutes into the seven-minute production, viewers are treated to the impressive sight and sound of water roaring over Niagara Falls before the screen shifts to the Lincoln Memorial.

In showing the natural wonder, Disney's filmmakers, however, chose the Horseshoe Falls, the only one of Niagara's three waterfalls to lie on the Canadian side of the border separating western New York state from southern Ontario province.

Making matters worse, a visitor to the U.S. would not even be able to get the same view of the falls in the video because the scene was shot from a vantage point in Canada..."

Why do you think that certain people should be given special benifits? We are all just humans. No one is considered inferior or superior. We are all equal. Why are we so competitive? Let us live in a world without competion! Let us live in a world where everyone would be required to work (except those above a certain age) and would be paid equally. Why would you NOT want to live in this world? Nobody would be discriminated against. To everyone else, we are all just another human working for each other.

In California, we're having the drop in home buying and prices, fires, and other background issues. I know this affects supply and demand, but I don't buy this idea because most places we've looked at charge ridiculous prices while rooms stay vacant. If apartments are so much, it seems that people would just refuse to buy at irrational prices. Can't rent prices circumvent supply and demand? Why not significantly lower the prices and fill every complex up? I think the outcome and result we would see is that there are not enough units to meet the need of shelter--so build more complexes! There's no low-income housing and I don't think we could get with our income (we're like at 60-70 thousand before taxes). We just got married, live pay-check-to-paycheck, no money saved, FYI.

Complexes post the federal nondiscriminatory law but why is income not part of this? Class and income disparity is the most significant issue in economic affairs (IMO) and is not addressed. Pretty scandalous.

I've known the owner of an established Chinese restaurant for years. She recently agreed to give my high school son a part-time job helping up front and doing a few deliveries. When he got there, she said she would only pay him cash, $20 a night, and he could keep the tips from his deliveries. Why would she not make him fill out a W-9, and offer him a wage as a tipped employee? This has to be illegal, but what should we do? Is my son likely to get in legal trouble? I need to confront her in a knowledgeable way.
