No, we cant have any open door policies for the simple reason that we need to secure and keep the integrity of the United States. I belive that we have to an effective barrier and advance reconissance technologies on both borders, not only to keep the integrity of the border but to help those people who try to come here get back home safely we can't forget and we can't let our emotions and ignorance take over, and we have to remember that these are people too. it really disappoints me when these unguided fools refer to these immigrants as some sort of sub-human beings or parasites or label them as disease ridden or free-loaders. There are way more than 12 million illegal immigrants here now and you can't kick them all out in terms of serving justice and in terms of the outragous cost of doing something like that it just isnt logical. I belive that these people need to be given a chance to rise from the shadows and to be helped up to their feet to not do something like that is both inhuman and unacceptable. We cant blame these people for all our nations problems and you just can't seal of the borders in fear of stupid and baseless problems or did we all forget how this nation was founded? If you guys really want to help then we should all just stop ranting and act like real "citizens" and actually participate in fixing our nation, cause we all take but we never give back or help others achive the American dream. Our nation's problem is simple when our leaders and representatives seperate or atleast dont let money interfere in our best interests then our nation will rise again, where do you think all the money these candidates get from their presidential race comes from they are just going to be puppets of the providers not ours...

I think there should be a policy whereby any citizen can declare themselves illegal, stop having to pay income taxes, and receive all the medical and health benefits and use of municipal infrastructure with none of the citizen responsibility.

Until then, as long as someone enters the country legally and accepts all of the responsibilities of any other citizen, including learning to speak American English, I don't have a problem with it.

I DO have a problem with allowing some people to break the law while the rest of us have to follow the law and pay for them. If they can break the law, why can't all of us?

In a way - yes there should be a door, because there are some people taking any from us the (U.S.A). Thinking that that they can have everything they wont and don't have to work for it. Like we do now.
other way you may look at it, that some people need the help that we have in the (U.S.A.). That they may need the help. But with people that think that they can have everything they wont and the people that need the help, think that they can stay it on forever.

There already is one. It just doesn't look like one. But the door is opened much wider if one illegally hops over a fence.

It would seem that we already have that. One more thing. If there were not this opportunity, none of us would be here. This country was founded by immigrants. Now, I'm not saying that we should allow people to swarm North from the border, but we do need to come up with a reasonable solution.Stiffer penalties on companies that hire illegals would be a great start.

There already is this policy. One must follow certain rules and pass certain tests, and they are welcomed in.
