I'm 16, in my first job as a sales associate at a small store (big company though). A friend of my boss's that I go to school told me that "By the way, you and the girl you worked with last sunday both got written up just to let you know"

What the hell does that mean? What does being written up usually entail?

Yes, they give some very broad ideas but they all sound an awful lot like Pres. Bush's song & dance answers over the last 6 years. (in which he hasn't been able to win it)

So the biggest issue in American politics since the end of the Cold War (The War on Terror) & not one Presidential candidate has any idea how they plan on winning it. Other than fighting it is on the top of their agenda's. I'm not sure who's more clueless the candidates or the American people who actually listen to them to talk all about fighting the war on terror but nothing on how to win it.

As police represent safety, peace and the law in society, would it not make sense that a crooked officer should face harsher penalties than the average citizen if they violate the trust of society.

In your answer please state if you are a law enforcement officer or not.

The regional government is expanding the main thoroughfare in front of a commercial property, therefore limiting access to the property. They will not allow vehicles to make a left turn into the property, or a left turn out. Although they claim safety to be a reason for this proposal, is this still an act of expropriation?

No land from the property affected will be taken.

As of this time SCOTUS has denied Cert in cases involving 1st Amendment several times. Why - as this a capstone of rights under the Declaration of Independence?

On Thursday of last week I had to go to the doctor over some cysts that I have. While there they did a bunch of tests including STD's. Saturday I get a call, right before going to my fathers for a family reunion, and the doctor tells me I tested positive for gonorrhea. I immediately call my husband and start yelling at him asking who he's been with and he turned around and did the same thing. Turns out my test came back with 3 different results. Instead of saying there was a discrepency he just said I tested positive and there was no way the test was wrong. I asked to be retested and my husband was tested also. Turns out the test was wrong, but we didn't find this out until we both took antibiotics for the STD. I need to know if this is malpractice. The doctor handled himself horribly and instantly jumped to conclusions. I can't help but wonder how many others were told the same but didn't retest and divorced over the results.

When President Bush vetoed health care for millions of children, U.S. Rep. Mike Conaway, R-Midland, had a choice: Stand with Bush or stand up for kids back home. He chose Bush, and was one of just a few votes blocking Congress from overriding the president's veto. As a result, millions of kids and their families could suffer.

When children are sick, they should be able to see a doctor. As Bush and the Republicans spend billions per week in Iraq, there's no excuse for not taking care of our kids back home.

This isn't a Republican or Democrat issue. A recent CBS poll shows that eight of 10 Americans support the kids' health care bill passed by the Democratic Congress, including a majority of Republican voters. Why is our representative so out of touch? Democrats have vowed to bring the kids' health bill back up, insisting that it cover 10 million children. There will be major political consequences for Republicans in 2008 if Conaway and others keep voting against kids' health care.

During the Great Depression it seemed that like all presidents, FDR and Hoover recieved large amounts of criticism from the american people. However, they did what they thought was best, and also took risks. When FDR created the New Deal I doubt he was one hundred percent sure of the impact, and even less people liked all of his ideas. Even so he brought America out of the depression. My question is basically in this age can a president still successfully take risks without results severely damaging our country? And also should the president always make decisions will the knowledge of how the people will react?

Why might a governor of a state be reluctant to call for federal troops in the event that a violence breaks out?

Is it because there is a money issue there. like the state can only get so much money from federal aid so much and they would rather put it to something else????

My 8th grade history class is renacting the trial for the Boston Massacre. I'm a defense attorney for the British and this is my opening statement: (Also, please include any tips or suggestions about it. Thanks!)

Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, we are gathered here today for the trial of five honorable men-Captain Thomas Preston, Private Mathew Kilroy, Private High White, Private William Mullcoly, and Private James Hardigan.
This is a case of five innocent men wrongly and unjustly accused of murder for the incident that occurred on March 5, 1770. These men were acting out of self-defense and meant no harm whatsoever to the Boston citizens present at the incident. Self-defense is a vital part of the law of nature and one should not be considered a murderer if one defending their life accidentally kills an innocent bystander.
Imagine being in these men’s places. Guarding post by your captain’s commands while being pelted with various harmful objects such as ice, snowballs, and clubs. An angry mob of inimical barbarians surrounding you and your comrades, shouting offending insults and taunting you by daring you to fire. This mob becomes so violent that you fear for your life. Not only are you terrified, but you are confused as well. You do not know whether to stand your ground and risk your life or to fire like a thousand different voices are screaming for you to. This is the horrifying conflict these soldiers were faced with.
Today, you are going to hear a lot of testimonies and we ask you to listen with open and compassionate ears. And to hear these men as they testify while keeping in mind that they are just as human as you are. We will prove to you that these men are 100% innocent.

By denial of Cert to so many cases every year SCOTUS is legislating and establishing more law than the Congress. This seems to also be a refusal of due process as guaranteed by the Constitution

I think since the U.S.S.R. fell, a lot of American's heads swelled, but could we REALLY fight Russia?

I think it would be a draw.

If we fight Russia and China at the same time, I think the U.S. is gonna go down no matter what we do.
