It is mandatory, you do not get paid a reasonable wage (not even minimum wage). Sure, some, although very few, employers pay you for it, & they are not required to do so by law. The court pays $15.00 a day, how are you supposed to live on that?

So why is it that our government can force us to participate in something that can cost us our homes or at the very least put us in debt? Isn't this america, where we are supposed to have freedom of choice?

Oh & don't tell me that you can get out of jury duty by claiming financial hardship, cause at least in L.A. County they removed that ability.

Not making light of either situation for both of them are indeed tragedies, but what explains the difference in the response of each state? (Of course I know New Orleans is not a state)

Katrina could be seen brewing for weeks before it struck.

While Christian fascism cannot give enough lip service to the "culture of life" it is morbidly death-obsessed in its raging support of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and capital punishment. The popularity of the grisly, sado-masochistic "The Passion Of The Christ" among fundamentalist Christians, as well as the Jesus Camp's indoctrination of children to be willing and proud to "die for Jesus" further belie Cristo-fascism's death fetish.

to this problem other than pay back. I have a guy who lives in the building and he's an alcoholic on welfare he continually stalks me and family members, harasses us and terrorizes the other tenants in the building. Its pointless to sue civilly cause he's broke and well never have a dime. This guy gets away with everything even murder (they never found a body she's listed as missing but everyone knows) anyways he knows dirty cops as unfortunately here they are crooked. Calling the cops wont help what can I do ?

Hello, I've read a lot of things about this but I still have to ask.

I've read a lot of articles and I've seen that people from other countries(which aren't even in NATO) are joining US army. They dont have green card or never been to usa.

Then I've read that you need to be citizen or have green card.
Also during hostile times(time of war) you only need ONE day served to become eligible for citizenship.
Now I have to ask:
How do I join US army?
I'm coming to US next year and I'll have student visa, will I be able to get in or will I have to work on getting green card first?

Anyone that became citizen true military?

Any info is appreciated.

P.S. On most questions I've read here answer was simply: you must have green card. What's the easiest way to get it so you could join army?

I've seen this in a few "official rules" for sweepstakes that are open to US and Canadian residents. Why are Canadians required to answer a simple math question before they can be granted a prize? Is this a Canadian law of some sort?

This was a partial interview when Hillary was running for NY Senator:

Arkansas education: improvement against great odds
LAZIO: In Arkansas, when you had responsibility for education, the student performance when you left was at the bottom of the barrel. Spending was up. Taxes were up.
CLINTON: The work that was done in Arkansas received numerous awards and praise, because we really started something that I’m very proud of. And test scores went up in third grade and sixth grade. High school graduation went up. The work was done against great odds, in a very poor state.
LAZIO: I have a very different perspective on your record in Arkansas. And I would just urge the voters not to rely on what I’m saying, but to look it up.
CLINTON: I’m not here to defend Arkansas. I’m here to run for the Senate to represent New York.
LAZIO: I realize that you don’t want to talk about Arkansas because that experience was a disaster for Arkansas.
CLINTON: I’m happy to talk about it if that’s what you want to spend your time talking about.
LAZIO: That’s your record, Mrs. Clinton. You can’t run away from your record.

Bottom line, Taxes and spending UP and the schools ended up ranking 50th in the nation.

So, is the type of performance that we can anticipate with Hillary at the helm?

No quitting school at 16.
I'm saying 12 years and you stay to graduate, even if it takes until you're 21.
12 months a year.
Get suspended and spend your suspension in the county jail.
Expelled, back to the county jail until the schools take you back.
A demanding curiculum and an average grade of 75 to pass to the next grade.

Lack of education is the road to poverty,it's time to close the road, the bridge is out.

Teachers want more but the taxpayer isn't getting his moneys worth.
When they graduate the uneducated they condem that kid to a life of poverty and maybe crime.

Big news this is an American War bought and paid for both the Legislative and Executive Branches of our Government. Congress could take back the War Powers Act any time they want to. They won't because of this war and dumping their responsibilities onto one man and by blaming him they are gaining seats in Congress. Trust me they have no intention of ending this war until they absolutely have to.

Why not do what he/she did to be successful? Is that too hard? Or is it easier to just ask for handouts?
