Hello, I've read a lot of things about this but I still have to ask.

I've read a lot of articles and I've seen that people from other countries(which aren't even in NATO) are joining US army. They dont have green card or never been to usa.

Then I've read that you need to be citizen or have green card.
Also during hostile times(time of war) you only need ONE day served to become eligible for citizenship.
Now I have to ask:
How do I join US army?
I'm coming to US next year and I'll have student visa, will I be able to get in or will I have to work on getting green card first?

Anyone that became citizen true military?

Any info is appreciated.

P.S. On most questions I've read here answer was simply: you must have green card. What's the easiest way to get it so you could join army?

You have read alot of Liberal BS.

You must be a citizen of the US, or a permanent resident
( green card holder ) to enlist in the US military.

You do not gain citizenship automatically by enlisting.

When a green card holder enlist's, the time requirement if changed from 3 years to one year, to apply for US citizenship.

But only if you deploy to a combat zone.

Otherwise the time requirement for US citizenship, remains the same.

The US military will not help anyone receive a green card for the purposes of enlistment.

You have to apply, on your own, just like anyone else.

Being from a NATO country, means nothing when it comes to enlisting in the Military.

You can only join if you are a US citizen in your case. A visa is not a green card and is not permanent. It is a wonderful thing that you feel so patriotic to a country which legally is not yours but there are going to be people who wonder if there is an ulterior motive for you serving in the US Army. Apply for a green card. Talk to the Army recruiter and see if they can do anything to speed up a long process that most of the time takes years. My only question to you is why would you not serve in Romania's Army since that is your country. Unfortunately an official diplomatic visa won't work. Talk to a recruiter and apply for a Green Card.

Green card required. The military can't help you with that. You have to apply just like everyone else. Once you get it, then the military can sign you up. Once you've been in for a year then you'll get full citizenship. No way around any of that, sry.

You need to be at least a Legal Permanent Resident (Green Card) in order to join.

there is no easy way to get the green card, and for each country, the regs differ as well as how many are alloted each year.

a student visa is NOT enough, you must be a legal PERMANENT resident. anyone who tells you they know somebody who got in without one is incorrect.

citizenship can be obtained after you have served in the US militray for one year, not one day. all fees are waived as well.

Yes, you need a Green Card.

There is no easy to do it. The "easiest" way would be through marriage to a US citizen. The US military will in no way assist you in getting one.

Contact an Army recruiter. They have all the information you need to get going.
