If there's famine in Cuba, Castro's to blame.
Let's see how Gore handles this accusation. Bet he, and other Democrats ignore it.

There are a lot of people including economists who have said that the sudden diversion of our corn crop for fuel is in part responsible for the run up in food prices both domestically and worldwide. I think world wide famine is overstating the problem, but it is a policy that had unintended consequences, and should probably be reconsidered. However I do not remember any politician of either party considering the problem in the debate, so I would say it was a bipartisan mess.
To close your eyes to a problem because of something Castro said is at least as dumb as to take his advise about how to run a government. Would you jump off a cliff if Castro told you not to.

And if it does, so what? tell OPEC to decrease their costs and we will scale back on replace gas production, and bypass back to feeding the ungrateful hundreds of the international.

What's his problem? We are going to use our resources for ourselves rather thatn handing them out to our enemies. Fine. Let's see how the third world fare now. He is probably pissed because that would make his budy Chavez oil fields less valuable.

How does Castro explain the widespread hunger and poverty in his country? It's like the pot calling the kettle black.

Amazing, isn't it?
But the 'progressives' won't be against it, they'll just blame Bush for it. That's sort of 'progressive' SOP.
