I thought it is to protect faithful USA's ally UK. Possibly against the French.
Maybe get Europeans to pay for their own defence, for a change?

The ABM system is the reason that President Putin has now turned to Iran as an ally.

This is a HUGE policy error by the USA but the media won't cover it.

The consequences of this USA blunder will be far reaching.

I guess Bush thinks the US isn't in enough debt. Now he wants to protect Europe. He's clearly insane.

i thought it was more of an 'intercept' kind of thing. i remember them testing it off the coast here (california). maybe i'm thinking of something else - what's the story, morning glory?
