Why moan and say that the "rich" guy should pay more and taxes and you should get more in handouts?

Why not do what he/she did to be successful? Is that too hard? Or is it easier to just ask for handouts?

Sorry, we don't live under true capitalism any more. Some people are still recovering from the $50,000 they lost to outsourcing. Jobs paying between $200 and $400 thousand dollars in the US ? If they were as plentiful as the jobs flipping burgers at McDonald's then you wouldn't hear so many people "moan" would you ? There's a problem in the US and you shouldn't put all the blame on it's citizens.

I'm all for true capitalism. One should benefit from hard work but all I see is people just making ends meet regardless of working hard then getting lay-off later. That's not right.
Let's get back to the basics of our system and try to keep our jobs in America first before "blaming all the lazy commie loving Libs and their handouts". If Clinton started it Bush isn't doing anything to stop it. A 30 grand a year job isn't helpful if someone lost their 80 grand job.

lol who says they aren't making that much already?

If I was making 6 figures, which I'm not, I would gladly pay a more reasonable rate. The rich already have access to a higher percentage of disposable income than average joes. There are already so many tax loopholes that the rich can get back more taxes than a poor person's entire annual income, not to mention tax breaks and loophole investments. These things are possible when you have a large amount of money. As the old saying goes, it takes money to make money.

All you have to do is compare the percentage of a poor or middle class person's income gone to taxes and cost of living versus the percentage of a rich person's income gone to taxes and cost of living.

I don't WANT rich people to pay more taxes than anyone else, but I want it to at least be fair or comparable. Noone talks about disposable income - THAT is the big difference in why the rich are the targets of tax scrutiny.

Well, I didn't have a well to do parent.

Why do I get the idea that the people asking these questions haven't made any money?

Not that it matters. The Constitution was written to eventually include us all in the rights it made law.

So, you can talk out your posterior about how you think it should be, while knowing absolutely nothing of which you are talking about.

The 1st Amendment is important.

Corporate Fascists are not interested in giving you an opportunity to make as much money as I do. They are interested in subjugating you and your children and your children's children the way they have in much the rest of the world.

Competition is a threat to them. They rule by economic terror and tyranny.

Equal justice under the law is a hinderance to them.

They are not Americans. The corporate fascists that have siezed control of this country are;

1. Cowards

2. Traitors

3. Totalitarians (who hang with totalitarians)

I'm what you would call a liberal. I don't make $200K (like most people, including most republicans) yet I have never taken a handout in my life.

BTW, the median income in the US is between $43 and $44K. The northeast, a predominantly blue section of the country, is much higher at about $57K.

Steve, regardless of what it takes to be "successful", you are somewhat out of touch with reality. According to the US Census Bureau, (http://pubdb3.census.gov/macro/032006/perinc/new11_002.htm), exactly 2,106,000 Americans have a personal income great than $200,000 per year. Based upon a total workforce number of 233,194,000, this amounts to 0.9% of individuals. I assure you that 99.1% of Americans are not lazy Democrats. Some people are unwilling to earn $200,000 per year because they would rather spend more time with their families. Others are simply not capable of making this kind of money. They have not been endowed with substantial intellectual capacity, the appropriate social advantages, or (in some cases) the requisite lack of morals (as is such with most/all of my lawyer friends).

Get in touch with reality and quit being a troll...

As if the majority of the people earning that kind of money didn't have well to do parents to put them through colleges while the poor had to go to work at Minimum wage jobs, at which the rich think the pay is too much!!!

Keep spending on shoes American women while the U.S. is busy invading and occupying other countries.

It is no wonder that most people around the world don't feel any sympathy for Americans when we need help or allies because most Americans worry about shallow things like shoes, clothes, bleaching their hair blond, and consuming massive amounts of food.

It is really interesting that while women in the U.S. are busy getting their fake tans, bleaching their hair blond or lying on the beach in their bikinis, innocent people in Iraq and Afghanistan are dying.

Americans have so many of their own problems. How about fixing them before invading and occupying another foreign countries.
And please do not wash your guilt by donating to charities when innocent children and people are dying under the U.S. flag.

Continue the good work in the name of democracy (a.k.a hypocrisy).

Not everyone can be that fortunate. I for one am in the military and there is no earning that kind of money here. It is choosing between doing what is selfless and what is selfish. You can keep your money and I'll keep my soul but as for America I believe she has a kinder soul than yours and she will help her less fortunate citizens by voting Democrat in '08.
