I'm getting all my paperwork together to get a permit to carry a pistol. I've been so disgusted with all these pyschos out here, robbing, killing and hurting children, I think I should have a gun just in case, for my daughter's sake.

Its my understanding that there were over 60 dead US soliders in Iraq in September.

Thankfully the number is lower then the previous 3-4 months.

So, greeted as liberators huh? How's that working out?

The ACLU has filed lawsuit in the state of Hawaii to prevent the state from random drug testing of teachers. Their main arguement is that Drug testing of employees is unconstitutional. The history behind this requirement is that 4 staff members (3 Teachers and a Principal) were arrested last school year on drug related charges, possesion and possesion with intent to distribute. This inclusion of random drug testing in the new teachers union contract was voted on and agreed to by the teachers union, so why does the ACLU feel that it should argue against random drug testing for teachers? Do you agree that teachers that teach in public schools should be drug tested? I DO.

I recently applied for a position with another company. The direct hiring manager knew that my current employer was unaware of my search. I would have given notice of course. In any event, the Executive Director ran into our Chief Operating Officer at a conference and mentioned that I was applying for a position within their company. The position had not been formally offered to me and I had not yet authorized this new company to contact my current employer.

Is this not a violation of my privacy rights? Should this not be kept quiet until I give authorization to contact references and then, shouldn't only those that I list as references be contacted and/or HR Department?

I wanted to speak to my current supervisor once the position was formally offered to me BEFORE reference checks were done. This could have created a very bad situation for me, but luckily it did not.

In any event, I cannot help that my rights were violated. Am I correct or incorrect?

President Bush, in a sharp confrontation with Congress, on Wednesday vetoed a bipartisan bill that would have dramatically expanded children's health insurance.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071003/ap_on_go_pr_wh/bush_children_s_health

The president's alternative is to renew SCHIP by spending an additional $5 billion over the next five years. The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office says this wouldn't even support coverage of kids already in the program.

Bush says the bill would distort SCHIP's low-income focus by extending coverage to families making up to $83,000 a year. Backers of the bill insist it does no such thing. As under current law, a state can ask to go that high, typically because it has a high cost of living, but it still needs the administration's permission.

Of the over 43 million people nationwide who lack health insurance, over 6 million are under 18 years old. That's over 9 percent of all children.

Do you agree with Bush's veto?

WHY would you oppose something like this that would help CHILDREN who are very sick? Medical bills are outrageous, especially when the child has a very serious illness and many families cannot afford health insurance. Many of these families are of average income and they could afford to pay for simple medical bills but not ones that cover a surgery or extended stay in the hospital. You could say that some of these families should not have had kids because they could not afford them but how were they to know their child would be sick and why should their children have to pay for their mistakes? Don't even play the well their parents are lazy and they do not work hard so that is why they cannot afford health care card...millions of Americans work hard but still cannot afford health care. Why should a hard working family who's child comes down with an illness have to be presented with medical bills that leap into the thousands? I do not understand why ANYONE would oppose this bill.

The reason I ask is because I just came back from Romania. It would take far more space that I have here to describe the total destruction of a country, economy, and the death and absoulte degredation of the populace.

I would welcome anybody that can explain to me how Communism was a bonus to a country that still has wagons pulled by mules as an important part of the food distribution system.

I know, impeachment is based on "high crimes and misdemeanors", not approval ratings. But Bush has made plenty of impeachable offenses, including the illegal NSA wiretap program which he flatly admitted. And yet the House of Representatives won't impeach. What depth of approval rating, or public uproar, do you think it would take?

I interviewed someone today that was qualified for the position, but they reeked of cigarette smoke and I prefer to work with non-smokers. I feel that smokers waste a lot of time on cigarette breaks and I would prefer not to smell it on their clothes all day since I will be working closly with this person. Is there anything leagal to take into consideration here. Although he reeked of smoke, he was well dressed professionally and seemed clean. He must have smoked right before he came in or something.

Brian Williams, anchor for NBC News, is on the Board of Directors for the Congressional Medal of Honor Society. Last year, he was scheduled to be the Master of Ceremonies for a dinner that was attended by, and honoring, over 100 living recipients of the MoH.
Williams announced at the beginning of the dinner that he needed to leave because he had pressing business in New York.
What was the pressing business? A family engagement, a big news story, an emergency?

Williams had a ONE MINUTE CAMEO on "Saturday Night Live"!!

Is this the example he should set for others? Is this any way to treat the 100+ men in attendance that had risked their lives for the love of their country?

Can anyone provide a valid excuse why an appearance on SNL is more important than the Medal of Honor??

For the past 30 years the communist Left (liberals, progressives) has been steadily and happily working away at destroying this nation and reshaping it with no or little consequence or public recognition of their activities.

They have been caught with their hands in the cookie jar by the silent majority which has found its voice.

They see all of their “hard work” accomplished worshipping at the altar of Marx, Lenin, Stalin, Castro, Guevara, Chavez being washed clean in the basin of truth.

They are watching and listening as the people of this nation are having their eyes opened to the murderous history of the policies the international America hating Left is pushing on America.

There is no “new” Christian Conservative Right here in America. We have always been here. We are just fed up with the socialist/communist Left and are doing something about it.

The Left is scared and they should be.
