I know, impeachment is based on "high crimes and misdemeanors", not approval ratings. But Bush has made plenty of impeachable offenses, including the illegal NSA wiretap program which he flatly admitted. And yet the House of Representatives won't impeach. What depth of approval rating, or public uproar, do you think it would take?

Some of you are still claiming that Bush has committed no impeachable offenses. However, Bush personally authorized the NSA to conduct wiretaps without warrants, which is plainly illegal. He admitted (bragged?) in public that he did so. There are more offenses; this one is simply the most clear-cut.

OK, I see I need to explain this more. Courts have ruled that the 4th amendment (prohibiting search and seizure without a warrant) applies to wiretaps. Therefore, wiretaps without a warrant are illegal. Know your rights, people!

a president is free to commit whatever crimes he like while in office....as long as he/she keeps enough support in congress to avoid impeachment hearings.

He will never be impeached.

This is what all the politicians have been waiting for.
There all in on it, every last one of them, there is no other possibility.

Bush has commited treason, obstruction of justice, false claims to the congress and the people, scape goating, gross misconduct in the wake of national tragedy, and conspiring to commit a terrorist act on his own country.

He should be publicly executed by hanging on every TV station in the country, and to be followed by the single bullet death penalty for every last member of congress and the supreme court.

But it will never happen because the elite run the country and they don't even live here.

They make the rules every day, all those "nutty" conspiracy groups people laugh about Illuminati, skull and bones etc etc, its all true and public researchable knowledge, there isn't even a democratic or republican party its all a fasade, to keep us busy chasing our tails while they work together in secret to take over the country in a silent coup.

Turn off the TV and start reading and asking the tough questions, then go down to your local walmart and buy all the guns they have, and wait for the call to arms.

The Democrats are going to have a backfire in this one. The Democrat controlled Congress could desire to be engaged on intense gasoline fees, foreclosure, intense meals fees, etc. they're dropping their time in this political pass on a President which would be out of place of work in some months.

Pelosi won't move on impeachment, because Reid is lacking the votes in the Senate for it to pass.

At this point for Reid to get the votes, Bush would have to gun down people in front of the White House with about 1,000 eyewitnesses to the crime. However, even at that point, the likes of Rush, Hannity, and O'Reilly would be spinning the crime in defense of Bush.

All those pork barrel politics riders (14,000 for $25 billion) attached to spending bills from 2002-2006 virtually guaranteed GOP House/Senate loyalty to Bush for the remainder of his term.

The democrats do not have enough of a majority to make it happen. This is a political game. The democrats don't want to risk losing. They are not cowards.

Dennis Kucinich is the only man with courage and the best ideas for America. His track record has been one to help most Americans. I admire him greatly.

By the time the procedure went through the process he would be out of office anyway and also there are probably not enough votes to get an impeachment.

I agree he has commited impeachable offences but the dems decided ti take the high road on this one and also focus on winnig the white house.

They will, I believe

I agree with you, he has made plenty of impeachable offenses. But when you consider who our v.p. is, impeachment of Mr. bush would only put cheney in office. That's really scary.

If you say you know the impeachment rules, then you know that, however much you might want to believe otherwise, the President has not committed an impeachable offense. Get over it.

Because the congress disregards the will of the people, there is no limit to his bad judgement and poor leadership.
