A friend was recently medically retired from the Navy. 100% disabled by both the VA and Navy. He has brain cancer. He was a nuke tech on a submarine. So near occupational exposure to radiation all the time. Who knows how he got brain cancer but its kind questionable to me.
Well he got a bill from the navy for his re-enlistment bonus today. For all of it not just part. He served two years of his re-einlistment 2 left.
He didnt choose to leave the navy he would still be there if he could.
Does he really have to pay it back is there anything he can do he has no money. His bills add up to more than his monthly VA allowance.

This takes care of a huge drain on our economy and with no menial jobs for immigrants they'll stop coming here.

L.A. county paid out $550 million in SS & welfare benefits to illegal immigrants alone last year. What about the 20 year olds who pay SS tax and will never see a penny of it?

I don't know about you, but I think it is sick to mix Jesus with war and killing. "Kill for Jesus!" What do you think?

AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. -- Less than two years after it was plunged into a rape scandal, the Air Force Academy is scrambling to address complaints that evangelical Christians wield so much influence at the school that anti-Semitism and other forms of religious harassment have become pervasive.

There have been 55 complaints of religious discrimination at the academy in the past four years, including cases in which a Jewish cadet was told that the Holocaust was revenge for the death of Jesus. Another was called a Christ killer by a fellow cadet

would Americans finally be appalled by our government's alliance with Saudi Arabia, the world's largest and most prolific exporter of global terrorism?

'The charities were part of an extraordinary $70 billion Saudi campaign to spread their fundamentalist Wahhabi sect worldwide. The money helped lay the foundation for hundreds of radical mosques, schools, and Islamic centers that have acted as support networks for the jihad movement, officials say.

U.S. intelligence officials knew about Saudi Arabia's role in funding terrorism by 1996, yet for years Washington did almost nothing to stop it. Examining the Saudi role in terrorism, a senior intelligence analyst says, was "virtually taboo." Even after the embassy bombings in Africa, moves by counterterrorism officials to act against the Saudis were repeatedly rebuffed by senior staff at the State Department and elsewhere who felt that other foreign policy interests outweighed fighting terrorism.' I'm a smart young individual. In high-school I averaged 3.7 GPA, and I placed reasonably high on your SAT. I decided to take a year off before going back into school. I've already decided on either STRUCTURAL OR SYSTEMS ENGINEERING. Recently the Army's benefits caught my eye, but I think the Air Force would be more beneficial to me.

I plan on finishing up with an associate's next year.
(And then pursuing college after my 3-4 Year service)

Basically:
Which Branch offers more money for college???
Which branch offers better benefits for also holding an associates degree?
(I mean would I come in as an officer?)
Which branch would pertain better to my fields after college?

Hey..let's face it: They don't like us and we don't like them. Let's be honest here okay? If my question bothers you WELL ... tough crap.

After we nuked the Japs back in WW2, they NEVER bothered us again now did they?

I'm talking about saving U.S. military lives here people.

I've got NO problem with Islam or Muslims BUT this war is gone too far and too long. It may NOT be the answer but obviously talking hasn't gone well either.

How much longer do we have to go before we lose more of our REAL heroes over there?

I say NUKE'EM all! That way they know we ain't kiddin' anymore.

Besides, they're so HARDup on being with their GOD, we'll make sure they do just that.

We toppled the Iraq army in a matter of hours. Would that happen with Iran, or are they more capable of handling a US-led invasion?

No politics please. Just facts.

This is what Bob Corker (R-TN) has to say:

As you know, S. 1335 is a bill to declare English as the official language of the Government of the United States . I feel that all American citizens should be fluent in English. I further believe that all immigrants to our country should become proficient in English before they are allowed to become American citizens. As it stands, S. 1335 is currently being reviewed in the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs. Should this bill come before the full Senate, I will certainly take your concerns into consideration.

ok, so I got a divorce like a year ago, and my lawyer told me that she was going to charge me 3,500 of course I ended up paying her 1,700 more!! and today (a year later) they called my from her office saying that I owe $800 more, and I looked at a statement and it says that for every call I made she charged me $62 and for everytime I went see here it was $210 and she never mention that to me, and for every copy and postage she also charged me! Is that how that works with a divorce lawyer? or she is really ripping me off?

There are so many laws now out there regarding strapping a child into a safety seat or booster seat or whatever it takes so that your kid is not bounced around like a pinball while you're driving. When we Boomers were kids, there were no such laws (not to mention no seat belts or anything else of that nature) and we survived things that would make a younger person of today's hair curl. Do you think that the government wants the next generation to become a bunch of marshmallows or is there a real danger out there that didn't exist 40 or 50 years ago. Come on - let's make sense!

I don't understand. This is a democracy. We have a government for the people, and by the people. So if the vast majority of us don't like our president, don't we have the right to take him out of office? Is there something in the Constitution that prevents this?
