This is a trollish and offensive question because of the article you link to about Inca human sacrifice.
Recruiters tout perks and a rosy view of military life, however, the military is in fact, an honorable profession that offers enlistees many opportunities and a chance to serve their nation. Unfortunately, the military is being used poorly by the civilian leadership. But that's not the fault or the responsibility of the recruiters.

its a cost/benefit analysis.
they promise all this stuff, but know that at least a few will get killed so they will never actually have to pay out. you can't send a corpse to college, now can you?
if they promised 70 virgins in the afterlife and Americans bought into it, they would do that instead, because that would cost the government nothing, and clearly the government would rather pinch pennies than take care of our vets medical and psychological health after they get back from combat.

When were you an adult? Our military is all volunteer, as far as I know we are not sending children. Please stop with the bleeding heart garbage, it just isn't going to work!
