It appears that the two worst people and corrupt persons in the race are the party favorites.

How and why would any honest person support either one of these two?

I don't see much difference except for the fear mongering. And don't say because of 9/11 because the jury is still out.

Proposing higher taxes on cigarettes to pay for healthcare, has got to be the most stupid idea or the biggest scam I have ever heard. Forcing the proposed tax discourages the consumer to smoke in the first place because cigarettes are so costly, smokers are being forced to quit. Secondly the Clintons were the very ones who instigated lawsuits against the tobacco industry in the first place, calling it a drug and a big conspiracy by the cigarette manufacturers to sell more cigarettes. That forced the sale of cigarettes down. They helped put the bad name on cigarette smokers we see today. The whole country is banning smokers from public and I hear NY is trying to ban smoking in private apartments. Last but not least we have smokers who WANT to quit for health reasons and if the government has their way smoking will be banned altogether. I ask you, how is cigarette tax going to pay for healthcare?

My cousin was inside of a store in the mall, he has this idea where he takes a clearance tag and puts it on a expensive item and pays for it. he changes tags in the dressing room where no one can watch him. since it is against the law to have cameras in the dressing room. well, he noticed that 2 people posing as a couple were following him and his wife around, so when they got to the register,he told the cashier that he didnt want the items (he had a bad feeling) well, his wife noticed that the couple said "okay lets go" and followed him and his wife out of the store. They did not arrest them because they didnt actually walk out with the items and they took off, the gift card that they were going to purchase the items with, the balance was removed. Can they be arrested or tracked down for this? Even though, they walked out with nothing?

Is health care only a privilege to those who can afford it? What about those who cannot afford health care? Should they not be able to take themselves or their sick child to the doctor? If you were in a position where you couldn't afford health care, wouldn't you want someone to help you? I'm not saying you should expect someone to help you, but if you did need help and it was there wouldn't that make you feel good about your country? If our government can give out $92 BILLION dollars in 2006 alone in Corporate Welfare, why can't we provide ALL Americans with health care? Where do you think that $92 billion came from? Tax payers pockets, that's where! If we can help the most fortunate in the US why can't we help the least fortunate?

Prior to this war, it was a tradition to show the caskets being removed from the cargo planes at Dover A.F.B. It showed how many soldiers lost their lives in combat. I served in Vietnam and when I heard the casuality rate, it was just a number. When I returned home and actually saw the caskets being removed from the planes it changed my views on the war. I know that President Bush had something to do with it, but I don't know why he did it. Does anyone actually know why his administration did away with this tradition?

It went "Last night I had the strangest dream I've ever dreamed before" and finished with "and guns and swords and uniforms were scattered on the ground" Now I am pretty certain it was an anti war/vietnam protest type song but why was I taught this in school at the age of 4/5, (in the UK) who wrote it/sang it and why have I never heard it since?

Recently at my college, the housing department rehearsed a fire drill as they do from time to time throughout the dorms. However, this time, the housing staff went from room to room, checking for extension cords (which are against housing policy), alcohol, and other prohibited items. Perhaps this is legal, I'm not a lawyer, and it is their property, I guess.

The thing that seemed wrong, though, was that upon finding any of these items, they were taken, with no note, verbal explanation, or anything.

Isn't there a law somewhere that protects me from my college taking my stuff? Even if it is against policy, isn't this taking it too far? I'm not looking to press charges, or really make any legal action whatsoever. However, having some link to a law or ordinance that protects my rights would be helpful.

Or is the college at no fault whatsoever? Thanks to anyone who can offer help.
