Total annual cost of illegals on taxpayers exceeds $1 billion .

LA County Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich has announced that a new report shows illegal aliens and their families in Los Angeles County collected over $35 million in welfare and food stamp allocations in July.

In the report, illegals are said to have collected nearly $20 million in welfare assistance for July 2007 and an additional $15 million in monthly food stamp allocations for an estimated annual cost of $440 million.

“Illegal immigration continues to have a devastating impact on Los Angeles County taxpayers,”said Antonovich. “In addition to $220 million for public safety and $400 million for healthcare, the $440 million in welfare allocations bring the total cost to County taxpayers that exceeds $1 billion a year -- this does not include the skyrocketing cost of education.”

Why should our gov subsidise big business, and why should presidential canidates be allowed to accept big donations from big buisness. Laws will be passed or lifted to support those with deep pockets regardless of party. why should we not stop this.

Keep in mind that the military was embarassed to have to serve under her husband. With her as Commander in Chief they will leave the military in droves, requiring a reinstatement of the draft. GIs will put up with a lot, but they won't put up with her. Take it to the bank.

My boyfriend quit his job back in August. He has had several interviews and one of the jobs gave him a call back until they got the results from the background check. My BF has a trespassing petty misdemeanor (dismissed) and a fireworks misdemeanor on his record from 2005. Can these types of misdemeanors be preventing him from getting a job???

- Cut spending and taxes
- End the war and bring troops home
- shrink government and let state side decide on more issues
- Secure borders and not grant anmesty

Ron Paul seems to be the only candidate which will do something about the borders and end the war. Voting to continue the war will eventually lead to high taxes to pay for it.

I just read this article http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070930/ap_on_re_as/taiwan_politics
I am confused by the statement that we are obligated by law yet we condemn the constant pushes from Taiwan to declare independence. Why not change our policy and stay the hell out of it? Otherwise risk a conflict with a country with a billion people dedicated to the the idea that they are the future rulers of the world. This is a tough one. I mean, after living on the mainland for quite sometime I get this ever growing feeling that the people are just itching for an excuse to prove their ever growing military. Any thoughts???

If a woman knowingly exposes her fetus to drugs/alcohol/any harmful substances, should she be prosecuted in the criminal justice system?

This is an issue actually being considered right now. These substances can cause physical harm, birth defects, and addiction in the baby when it is born. I just wanted to see everyone's opinions.

I just don't see what their value is any more?

The big countries like ours ignore them,
They are counter productive as far as Africa is concerned...
Israel has never obeyed it's resolutions....

They are just a fat bureaucracy, that takes a lot of our money...

1. we live in Ohio
2. we are not married
3. the father signed the birth certificate, however no test was ever done.
4. the child resides with me

the father and i are on good terms as far as the intentions of our son (which is only 6 months old right now) I'm just curious as to what the status of custody would actually be since there was never a hearing. I appreciate all answers and hope for a link maybe to a page that can further explain how these things work. I would like to educate myself on this incase something should happen in the future between us.

Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul gave fellow candidate Rudy Giuliani a list of foreign-policy books to back up his contention that attacks by Islamic militants are fueled by the U.S. presence in the Middle East.

Among the books on Paul's reading list were: "Dying to Win," which argues that suicide bombers only mobilize against an occupying force; "Blowback," which examines the unintended consequences of U.S. foreign policy; and the 9/11 Commission Report, which says that Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden was angered by the presence of U.S. troops in Saudi Arabia.

Another book on the list was "Imperial Hubris," whose author appeared at the press conference to offer support for Paul.

"Foreign policy is about protecting America," said author Michael Scheuer, who used to head the CIA's bin Laden unit. "Our foreign policy is doing the opposite."

I am completely deaf in my right ear, (well over 100db hearing loss), but my left ear has no loss and actually hears above average. By no means am I "hard of hearing." But here is where my questions comes in:

1. Is it possible to join the Air Force? (this doesn't just include being a pilot, but maybe other areas within, like medical?)

2. Can I be in AFROTC? (again, maybe not just a scholarship to be a pilot but for anything else maybe?)

3. I know the answer to this is probably no, because I have hearing loss, but Is it at all possible for me to be a pilot in the air force?

Thank You

I can't believe that America has become so brainwashed that most Americans willingly vote for whoever is the candidate covered the most on CNN. CNN is owned by members of the globalist Trilateral Commission and CFR which are both criminal groups. Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and Mitt Romney all are Bildeberg and CFR members and this has been proven, and it is not speculation. If someone casts a vote for Hillary, they are destroying America. People who are not affiliated with these crooks are Joe Biden, John Edwards, Mike Gravel, and Ron Paul, and that is why they are not winning. Most people hate Hillary, yet she seems to be winning in every national poll, including the New Hampshire one. I have traveled to New Hampshire for long periods and lived there for several months, and what's funny is most people in New Hampshire hate Hillary Clinton and said they would never vote for her, but CNN says she is winning by a large margin in New Hampshire. That is a lie.
