Violence is soaring in Afghanistan despite years of counterinsurgency operations by international troops and millions of dollars spent in equipping the country's army and police units.

General Cone cautioned that military force alone would likely not be enough to beat the Taliban and other militants battling foreign and Afghan government troops.

Do you think campaigns like "Rock the Vote" and "Vote or Die" actually influence the youth and non-voters of America to vote in the elections?

He has right for privacy. And if he want to fish without t-shirt it is understandable. It is easy to make fun, but there is nothing funny. Have u heard about paparazzi? So, Putin was not in Moscow that day, he was fishing very far from there, in Sibiria.
Anyway, we are all proud that our president always stays in shape, he cares about his body. What you cant say about... u know who. :)

I know that it is indeed safer for a child to ride in the back seat, but what is the legal age? I have a small Nissan car and if one of my kids has a friend go with us, my 5 year old has to sit in the front in her booster seat. They can't all sit in the back, there's no room for 2 boosters seats and a carseat.

I'm aware that one of the dangers is the airbag deploying and hurting her, so I move the front seat all the way back.

Am I breaking the law here? I'm in Texas if it matters.

Hi everybody!
Yesterday I got a parking ticket. On the ticket the officer did NOT fill out my VIN number. Also, my liscense plate starts off 5K.. but it looks like they wrote 5T.. instead. Also he put the color of my car as "gray" when it's really "blue." And for the "model" of my car he wrote "TRK" but it really is a "RX" Is this enough for me to get out of the ticket?

USA.. Land of the free.. Democracy... Government: FOR the PEOPLE! BY the PEOPLE! OF the PEOPLE! One of the top sories on Yahoo! US can not win the taliban over by force... You know if another terrorist attack does happen 'innocent' people wont die... See our government was elected by us from us to do OUR bidding... n so WE are RESPONSIBLE for every decesion made in the white house... WE are RESPONSIBLE for every action of our president. On 9/11 3,000 innocent people lost their lives in retaliation we bombed Afghanistan and Iraq... Over 100,000 innocent lives have been lost in Iraq alone... The ratio of American mercenaries to army in Iraq is allmost 1:1. These Mercenaries can NOT be tried by civilian OR military court ( one of the last laws that Paul Bremer pushed)... We have sold the war to the lowest bidder ( A company called Blackwater) to take over and do as they wish. N if some pissed off fanatic does attack then we will all mourn...

One last question mainly directed at the Terrorist Threat Diminishers .

Your Children and Your Family --

If we do get hit by the terrorists like they promised to very soon , will you be able to look into the eyes of your children and family members and say... ... . . " I'm sorry , Mommy / Daddy really didn't understand the reality of the threat " , and " I'm sorry that Mommy / Daddy didn't prepare our family for this type of circumstance" ??

Are you that cold-blooded that you could do that ?

I have gotten two virtually polar opposite opinions on how child support is eliminated once a child emancipated.
My understanding is, that a child is ''emancipated'' once the are married, in the military or 18 and not taking higher education. Or in my case aged 21 and in College.
Given that, my brother had an attorney say that Indiana Statues over rule any judges order. So he may stop without further notice to the court when the child is legally emancipated. The Clerk in my county said this is incorrect and I must fill out a form ''www.in.gov/judiciary/selfservice/forms/eman_term.html'' to petition the court to terminate due to emancipation. What is the real rule of law here?

The ultimate in reality TV this fall on FOX. 10 people, 1 house. Only one will be left standing. Only one can be named President of the United States.

Each week contestants perform tasks. The week's winner is immune from the vote, the rest can be voted off by the public. Last man or woman in the house gets to be president.

Your thoughts? Any worse then how we do it now?

That politicians have always been this corrupt but it simply wasn't as glaringly obvious in the past as it is today?

There was a time, not too many years ago, that we didn't have 24/7 cable news, that many things that might have come out into the open, simply never did.

Are we better off today than we were say, 25 or 30 years ago when we were simply more naive? I'm disgusted with most politicians in today's world. As each day passes, that disgust grows and the distrust increases.

If you're going to respond, keep in mind that one side is just as guilty as the other. We've reached the point that we're arguing over which side is LESS corrupt. How sick is this:?

Many people say that there is a very vivid class division in American society & the rich are getting richer & the poor are getting poorer & the rich never like to interact or help middle class and poor people.

But hasn't American society always been like that? I can't understand why many people blame it on the current Administration. I mean, rich people have always had loads of money & the poor have always suffered, haven't they? If this is the case, then why do people still complain about America becoming very corrupt and bureaucratic, when it has been like that for centuries?

No one will explain to us what papers to file or even how to file them. An attorney said if we had $2,000 dollars to throw away he would take the case. Unfortunatily, we don't. He also said file an amendment before time runs out. ???? Legalaide wasn't any help either. Any information would be greatly appreicated.

I received a driving citation for making an illegal turn last year and the officer not only gave me a citation but told me to place my thumb over an electronic device, as I assume to place my fingerprints in a database. Could I have objected and was he required to ask for my consent? I didn't refute at the time but I don't want my fingerprints in a database unless I have committed a crime.

Thanks

'She says she has clients whose monthly income is $800 a month but whose mortgage payments have now mushroomed to $500 a month. "No one looked at the affordability factor"'

Do you want your tax dollars to bail people out who were foolish enough to not "[look] at the afforability factor"?

Is it a) compassionate, or b) immoral for politicians to spend other peoples money to bail debtors out when they make bad decisions?
