To acknowledge the clear and present danger would contradict their political party's platform and would deny their support for those who would destroy our way of life and hard earned freedoms. These individuals prefer retroactive damage control rather than proactive self defense...I suspect secondary to their own innate terror of reality and delusional Utopian-ism.

I'm glad i didn't miss the ending. My family is prepared and aware, not scared. I'm not cold blooded at all. All that training i had in school(remember duck and cover, like that would save us from a nuke) never helped me,even then no one tried to instill fear in me. This has been an interesting series of questions, somewhere the headline was forgotten.
Part 1. some people are forgetful and stubborn.
Part 2. deniers.
Part 3. diminishers. Interesting you brought up Churchill. Britain helped start the modern terrorist movement we fight today(research Amin Al Husseini).
Part 4. I missed that one.
Part 5. Cold blooded diminishers.
What a long,strange trip it's been.
You'll have to look up how you have progressed in the way of names. Put your faith in something greater than yourself,be aware and don't let fear rule your life. It is some things i taught/teach my children.
added. I'm going to answer the original question,so it isn't forgotten. Just the other day i commited a random act of kindness,a few hours later my daughter commited one too. My son is gone helping a friend right now. Seems i do care about my fellow Americans and have taught my children to do the same.
added. I answered the question, but what i am getting from your questions,is nothing about caring for fellow Americans. What i'm getting is,(feel free to correct me if i'm understanding you wrong)if we choose not to live in fear,we are all of the above and we don't care for our fellow Americans.

First of all, the "terrorists" have been promising another attack since the day after 9/11. The only evidence of that promise is the US intelligence reports, the same people that didn't see it coming, the same people that say it was Iran, the same people that end up invading Iraq (it's just a letter after all), the same people who can't find Osama, the same people who said that there were lots of WMD in iraq, etc, etc.
Second, I understand the reality of the threat. The threat is the government getting bigger, sucking my hard earned money, taking my time and effort and wasting all of it. The government doesn't care about you, me or our families.
What I don't want to say to my kids when they grow up is "Sorry for letting the government take away your freedom. Sorry for letting the government tell you what to do, what to eat, what to wear. Sorry for letting the government ruin your future with poor education and socialist crap that only left you with few job positions with no value, low paychecks and no improvements in the horizon. Sorry for turning you into a slave like me."
I can go on forever with this, but I think I included the major issues.
And third, what do you say to the families that lost a love one in this war? Because the war is going to end and you'll see the results, nothing. What are you going to tell them?

So let me get this straight.
Bush says that if we get Saddam, the terrorist threat will diminsh. Bush says, well, said, in 2003, that bin Laden is no longer a threat or prioirty.
BUT reports have concluded that one terrorist group is just as strong now as it was pre-9/11.
From what I have read on here, some people think we are safer now than we have been.
And now you say that there are several plots against us.
So which is it? Are we safer now than before we went into Iraq obviously not.
And now you want to go into Iran? A pre-emptive strike?
We need to fix the problems within our borders.

What makes you think we won't be saying that either way?
You are talking purely on emotion and not on cold hard fact.
We are less safe because of our illegal invasion of Iraq. Iraq was never a threat to us. There are many more reasons that could be the result of our demise than terrorists. You give them too much power and thus control. The terrorists sure have pulled the wool over your eyes. I suggest you dig deeper and then come back on here with more to back up what you say because what you have here is very weak at best.

Wow, fear mongering at its most basic.
"Terrorist threat diminishers" are simply the two hundred million Americans who realize that the US occupation of a Muslim land increases the threat of terrorism.
What exactly are you saying these "diminishers" should apologize for? Voting Democratic! Disagreeing with the President's plans to bomb Iran, now that the inspectors have found no weapons-grade enrichment!
Amazing also that you're saying the attack won't be responsibility of the Bush administration or Homeland Security, no, not them... it will be the fault of those who disagree with the far right extremists who have hijacked our country in the name of fear.
-----
Oh, am I cold-blooded? No, I'm rational. I realize the value of human life and safety, and won't have my mind bent by incompetent ideologues or their hacks.

Are these the same terrorists that we see on fox news? ya know, the over used images of guys in ski masks carrying assault rifles while they swing across the monkey bars at the local terrorist training camp. 'Cause those guys are pretty scary with there hidden identity, guns & gymnastic skills. Oh lawdy I do hope W can protect us.
Alright now, look here. You call yourself an American, so you need to act like one. It's nothing less than shameful to admit that you choose to live in fear. What kind of message does that send to your children? Are you trying to teach them to drop their civil rights & tax dollars by the curb & run to hide under the bed when the oil barrons cry " Al-Queda "? Take a deep breath, move your finger off the panic button and pull your head out of the sand. It'll help you recognize the real terrorists when you see them. Here's a hint. The real terrorists will be the folks who are trying to tell you what you need to be afraid of.

How exactly do you 'prepare' for a terrorist attack? When I lived in Southern CA, I had all of our pictures in a tote bag for easy carrying if a fire came through, I had water and canned food put away with other emergency supplies in case of an earthquake. I still do have those emergency supplies even though I now live in NH. But what do you do against an enemy who will fly planes into buildings killing themselves as well as others?
Intelligence will only get us so far, I think. In the meantime, I believe I will not live my life in fear...

It would be easier to say, Sorry you Will never be able to afford a house, that you may never have medical insurance, that you can't afford to have and raise children, that you can't think about ever retiring, that you have work your arss off to pay off the national debt before you can prosper.
This is because Mommy and Daddy fell for the Terrorist propaganda and destroyed the country because of the fear of terrorism. They simply let us self destruct . We are really sorry.

So you want us to be afraid and do what? I am not a paranoid type person. My children who are in their 30s wouldn't blame me. Nor would my grandchildren They're a bright bunch. I don't spend my days worried about the Islamo boogeyman in the closet of the country. We're constantly under the threat of something. Poisoned Chinese made items. Tainted food, toothpaste, etc. I refuse to live my life in a bundle of neurotic fear. And don't want that for my family and friends.
We aren't living in Darfur or Iraq. Can't imagine what kind of stress and paranoia that would be.

Terrorists may or may not come over here and attempt to kill a few of us. Conservative fearmongers seek to take freedom away from all of us. They are the greater danger to the American people.
Actually, because of the illegal war that they started in Iraq, we have had more soldiers killed and wounded than Al Qaeda could have ever hoped to have hurt before.
