I got a letter from Al Gore yesterday stating that we need to put a Democrat in the White House when Bush leaves. I think Gore would be much more formidable than Hillary, Obama, or Edwards. He has 8 years experience in the Executive branch and doesn't have the same negatives that Hillary and Obama have. This guy actually got more popular votes than Bush in the 2000 election, and I think he would be by far the most formidable candidate the Democrats could run. I think a Gore candidacy would be a sure thing for the Democrats.

I got summoned for jury duty last week and I can't go because not only am i living an hour and a half away from home [I am in college], but I also have class the day that i am supposed to show up, at that time. on the letter, there was a number to reach the bailiff which i tried to call three times, only to be put through to voicemail. I filled out the form i had to fill out and sent it in for fear of getting in trouble. I also included a lttle note inside of why I cannot go. Should I wait to see if I hear anything? what should I do?

A 2/3s majority is needed in both the House and the Senate. The low approval ratings of both the House and the Senate are the direct result of the Republicans putting partisan politics before the needs of the American people. WIth only a slim majority in both the House and the Senate, the legislation the Democrats put forth is NOT Bush Veto-Proof. If you're unhappy with how the Senate and House are conducting business, please write your Congressman (http://www.house.gov/writerep/) or your Senator (http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm) and tell them to put aside the partisan politics and to get back to working for the AMERICAN PEOPLE!!

..., shouldn't equal pressure be brought on Ted Kennedy to resign as well. It's a lot worse to kill a girl and run away from it than to try to attract another perv in a men's room.

I was going to vote for Hillary until I found out about her outrageous opposition to Gay Marriage. I looked up Sen. Obama's stance and discovered a much more Gay friendly Candidate. My question is, how long has Hillary stood this way about Gay Marriage; and what is her motive?

Ethan M posted a question about both parties being equally corrupt and several people responded by saying that the Dems were more corrupt than Republicans...I would love to hear people's justification for this, as all of the corruption charges I have seen , besides jefferson, have been Republicans.

By that I mean, require me when I go on sick leave to have a doctor excuse with the diagnosis, prognosis and treatment and then go to the employee clinic to be "re-admitted" to work? If not, is there some legal web-site that I can find that a employer can't do this??

I imagine that this varies state to state, but who must yield when traffic is trying to merge onto the highway in NJ? I have heard people tell me either way, and a search on the internet did not yield any results. In some instances, cars have very little room to merge and must immediately get onto the highway or come to a full stop blocking all other traffic trying to merge and traffic trying to exit. In this case it would make sense to me that the merging traffic have right of way.
However in other cases cars have plenty of room and there is no crossing traffic trying to exit, so in that case it would seem to me that the traffic already on the highway have right of way.

Is there a law in NJ about yielding to merging traffic ?

If you are on a jury, would you be willing to err on the side of innocence (of the accused), and if necessary to rule in direct conflict with what the law says in order to prevent injustice?

If not, why do you believe that innocent people should be sent to jail (as nearly happened in the Duke Lacrosse case and as has happened in the Ramos and Compean case and the Padilla case)?

Numerous intelligence reports say that the terrorists will hit 3-8 cities soon and simultaneously . Those assertions come from US Intelligence reports and foreign intelligence reports . Some of them say that rural America will be hit as well .

This is mainly directed to the 'Terrorist Threat Diminishers' out there , those who say that more people get cancer and struck by lightning than get killed by terrorists .

If this happens , will you help others in need ?

And what if it is YOU and your family that suffers directly from an attack ? Will you EXPECT help even though you were laughing so hard while telling everyone there's not much to worry about ? Do your neighbors know you actively diminish the threat ? What will they think of you if you successfully got them to diminish the threat as well , but then they got hit anyway ?
You think about that last one for awhile .
