Do You Care About Your Fellow Americans ? . . . Part 4 --- 'Help'?

Question

Numerous intelligence reports say that the terrorists will hit 3-8 cities soon and simultaneously . Those assertions come from US Intelligence reports and foreign intelligence reports . Some of them say that rural America will be hit as well .

This is mainly directed to the 'Terrorist Threat Diminishers' out there , those who say that more people get cancer and struck by lightning than get killed by terrorists .

If this happens , will you help others in need ?

And what if it is YOU and your family that suffers directly from an attack ? Will you EXPECT help even though you were laughing so hard while telling everyone there's not much to worry about ? Do your neighbors know you actively diminish the threat ? What will they think of you if you successfully got them to diminish the threat as well , but then they got hit anyway ?
You think about that last one for awhile .

Earnest you bring up some very valid points. First of all I have been impacted by cancer since my mom died of it when I was 2, and drunk driving took a best friend hit by a drunk driver away when I was 18, I had a father hit by Alzheimer's and a grandmother by heart attack so yes alot of these tragedies hit more than terrorists do. But for all the sadness the above brought me they did not impact my country and its future as a nation politically and culturally. Thus when terrorists strike and plan attacks on us I know how devastating it is and how in the memory of those who have died in my family and friends we must not reduce the terror threat to some police action or lets just spend money on other things since its costs more lives, our country is at war with these terrorists and their plan is do destroy us as a nation. They intend our way of life to be wipped from the annals of history and we must do all we can to prevent there attacks where ever they are and when ever.

I would hate to be affiliated with them...

those experts CLEARLY state that the war in Iraq has done nothing to stop these expected attacks and that al-queda is back to almost full strength in the "war on terror"...

we've clearly taken our eyes off the ball (al-queda) and Republicans constantly go on and on talking about how we must win the war in Iraq... when it's doing little to nothing about those that want to attack, except wasting our resources in Iraq...

would experts be saying that if Republicans were really doing anything about the terrorists? "we're fighting them over there so we don't fight them over here"... except... we're in the wrong country... and in doing so, have allowed them to operate with even less oversight, since our focus has been diverted to Iraq...

what can we do against an attack?
what can we do if a building gets hit?
if its a chemical attack?

I don't know what I'll do.
and no one will be mad at somene who doubted another attack. they were wrong. they made a mistake.
this is a guessing game- will it happen? how will it happen? and where will it happen?
if anyone guesses wrong they won't be castigated for it (as long as they are a regular citizen. if your job is to protect people you better know whats going on)

When and if a terrorist attack occurs I will respond. Until then, I am not going to waste my sanity worrying about it. There is NOTHING I can do to stop anything, that is my government's job, and hopefully they won't be asleep at the wheel next time.

If I am a victim, I am certainly not going to expect help because I doubt I will get it, if the history of this administration stays true.

You can worry about these kinds of attacks all you want, but if nothing happens you are wasting your time, and worrying about them won't make you better prepared or more capable of reacting when one happens.

Of course we'll help our neighbors if a hit comes close... and I think maybe our statements are coming off wrong. It's not that we don't think America will ever get hit again or that terrorists aren't actively trying... We believe the terrorists WANT us to live in fear of them.. isn't that the whole point of terrorism? So we just try to put it into a perspective that allows people to live without the constant fear of being blown away just by stepping outside their door.. that's all.

i think it would be terribly convenient for a major terrorist attack to happen in an election year in the US after the cons predicted it, don't you?

if it does, i think an investigation should be launched to find all those that stand to benefit from such an attack. and then they should be shot for treason, because i would be willing to bet that they would in fact be Americans.
