I enlisted at 24 years old and ended up staying 20 years. You just have to remember that boot camp and early in your service everything is geared for immature kids right out of high school. You will tend to advance quicker and get more responsibility than the 18 year old.

The oldest private my old unit out of basic was 32. At 21 you are not to old, you will find most of the army is in there mid to late 20s.

You are definitely not too old. You can be up to 35 years old. Think about what you excel at and what type of job you are looking for. They will teach you a trade and pay for school. Consider your reasons for joining, and make sure it is something that you are comfortable with. Keep in mind that this is a time of war and there is a 99% chance that you are going straight to Iraq and Afghanistan. After you have considered this, contact your local recruiter or visit www.army.com

Actually you're at a very good age to join the Army; you're old enough to know better than the majority of the 18 year olds and still young enough to compete with them physically, you might be able to outperform a lot of them.

It depends on why you want to join the Army and only you can decide that. You are not too old at all.

your not too told, but i would say you should think long and hard about how long your commited to the army and whether you are prepared to take that on, to be truthful i know someone who went into the army when they left school, he said he wanted to because he thought he wa hard, he said "im not" but the army is full of people who think like this he said. He has just left about 22-23years old and counted down the days for months!! He hated it. just a experience i know about i hope this helps :)

I know of a 34 year old woman who joined the Navy and graduated as an honor recruit. So no, you're not too old.

Great idea and you are not too old. Just remember you will be nothing but cannon fodder for the wealthy. Good luck.
