I want someone who is honest, who has morals and values and follows them, who is concerned about this Country and the people he would be representing (all of them; not just the ones in his party); I would want him to be very strong on defense and to be someone who would enforce the laws we already have, not make a bunch of new ones that no one is willing to follow; I would want him to be able to appoint judges who would also follow the rules of the land and not close his eyes to issues; I would want him to able to convict criminals and follow through on the death penalty if it is applicable; I would want him to be a diplomat and be able to have the strength and courage to do what is necessary to control our borders, to end illegal immigration, to stop giving money to those unwilling to work, to be able to inform the people of this Country that they can't always do the "politically correct" thing when it comes to terrorists; we need to follow the hard line and put people in jail when they are a threat to us and not be so concerned about their "bad childhoods" and "being misunderstood", etc. If we need to wire tap to get information to be safe, do it without question; if we need to inspect the packages and luggage of those traveling, even if it causes some inconvenience, do it!! I would want someone to be very informed about our military needs and to be able to support our men and women in uniform. I want him to be able to give them the best training and equipment necessary to do the awesome job that they have to do. I want him to be able to honor and appreciate every single one of those serving our Country. I want him to be informed about other nations and the threats that are out there. I would want someone who would stop taxing the people and cut the unnecessary ones. I would want him to think about energy issues and who would seriously think about drilling here to produce oil for us. I would want him to be able to end unecessary government spending and to stop giving welfare to those who need to work. Investigate and find those who are commiting fraud. Allow people to choose the schools they want their children to attend and consider the voucher system. Keep our health care system in place and don't consider doing what Canada and England do. We have a great system with some problems we don't want to have a broken system where our people will suffer and not be able to choose or get help when they need it. I want him to stop following the polls to determine how he should be thinking; think for himself and be strong in his own beliefs. I want him to do his best to get enforceable laws to protect our children from preditors on the web and in our neighborhoods. These are just some things that I would like to see the candidate show me.

New views, new platforms. The old ones have failed. We need a new way to fight the war on terrorism: which may include targetting Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. In addition, new thinking on immigration that can push a sensical solution to the problem. Domestic policy wise, the one that has expressed the newest thinking is Mitt Romney. However, I doubt he will show the critical thinking leadership that will be so essential in the next 8 years. That is why I am leaning Obama who has shown a willingness not to either be a knee-jerk reactionary nor to simply accept the party line. Particularly in foreign policy, he has shown a willingness to actually think about the situation and not just fight in the political sqabbles. He's stumbled in this at points on his domestic vision; but I am at least excited with the possibility of someone willing to critically examine issues.

If the rich candidate will go through the motions of government while giving the people all salaries or lobbyist funds I would vote for them.
American Government is not intended as a way to make personal fortunes larger.

I have rated my key issues and I look to see which cand. is aligned with them the most. Border security is #1 for me right now and I have eliminated candidates based on their stand being different than mine. There are issues that I can and cannot compromise on in a candidate. I do not just look at what they are saying now, but also what they said in the past AND if they followed up with votes or actions that showed that they do what they say.

Hope I explained myself ok.

I am looking for a GOP candidate that will bring back morals and values to American society. One that opposed abortion and gay marriage. One that will allow prayer in public schools and will cleanse the filth off of American TV and radio.

I also want someone who will lower taxes and keep our economy moving forward. One who will also keep the war on terror an offensive campaign, not defensive. I also want a candidate who supports a free market, with little government intervention.

I'd vote for someone that was just plain old honest. We need a poor person that isn't afraid to admit the things that our current gov. officials hide and lie about. If someone stepped up to the plate and told me they were in fact a gay, pot smoking, adultery committing, cocaine dealing, whatever else all the liars in government are not admitting to. I'd vote for that one. Just be honest, we all know that all of you are a bunch of crooks with all sorts of sexual tendencies and indulgences. Stop lying to us. Tell us the daggone truth. the world is going to hell in a handbasket and the aliens are going to come eat everybody along the way.

Leadership at the Top like a governor or mayor and not a Senator who is one of many. Someone who knows foreign policy and can manage the military as commander in chief.

We finally turned out the rotten bastards and elected Democrats. You mean it's time to turn them out again?

Does this insanity never end?

Maybe we'll get rid of Karen Minnis this time. (oops she's a state senator, not a representative)
