Hi everybody!
Yesterday I got a parking ticket. On the ticket the officer did NOT fill out my VIN number. Also, my liscense plate starts off 5K.. but it looks like they wrote 5T.. instead. Also he put the color of my car as "gray" when it's really "blue." And for the "model" of my car he wrote "TRK" but it really is a "RX" Is this enough for me to get out of the ticket?

The ticket can be amended by the issuing officer.

You could take it to the clerk of the court and explain the situation; but at that point, you would be admitting that it is your car, which would negate any other defense.

Do not pay it. If they got the license plate number correct, you'll get a notice in the mail. There is no increased fine if you wait for this notice (as there is no guarantee that someone didn't take the ticket off your car before you got to it, so mailing the ticket is the first way that they can be sure you received it). If you get the notice, pay up. Otherwise, you're free.

And if a handicapped man or woman were acceptable in the back of, the place would he/she have parked? Sorry, she occupied the area, which she had no acceptable to do. No excuses allowed, and have faith me, the courtroom has heard all of them. this is a valid cost ticket and she or he will would desire to pay it. She would desire to have stopped further away, like different able-bodied human beings do, and the lot of you will desire to have walked the extra effective few yards. And if there have been no different parking spots, which frequently purely happens at Christmas, she would have dropped you off on the realm highway, or at a loading zone, I wager there became right into a sort of.

i got out of a speeding ticket one time because the ticket code he put on the ticket was off by one number in the big ticket book so the judge had to throw it out. He said the cop probably did me a favor but wanted to teach me a lesson. Maybe thats what the cop did for you. But you can always say that the ticket doesnt match your car info and whatnot, so it should be dismissed

If you are guilty then pay the ticket and don't do it again. If not, it is a possibility that the person whose car he put it on originally put it on yours in turn. That rarely happens but it does happen sometimes in hopes, by the person whose car it was originally put on, that the new recipient will pay the ticket without checking it. Especially if the writing on the ticket is not clear. Sometimes a third party will do it as a prank or to screw things up as well.

Depends on where you live, I would suppose.

Where I live, yep, that's enough.

I had a ticket where they had my plate correct, but the wrong model. I called and they dismissed it - didn't even have to see the judge. I waited until they sent me the second notice in the mail though - don't go w/the original ticket they leave on your car, wait for the mail notice!

There is a lot of parking ticket fraud occuring and they know it.

Try to fight it - worst case you have to pay, but you never know....

Don't pay it and see if you receive a "reminder" in the mail. In my city, the "reminder" that the DPT sends out usually adds a fine for not paying within the immediate period after you receive the ticket. If you do receive the reminder, they must have enough info to further fine you for not paying. If you don't, then I would let it go. (In my town, if you receive the "reminder" they usually tack on a fee for late payment -- but we never pay the late fee... we will even get a couple of reminders before we pay the original amount we owed on the ticket and we have never had any DPT troubles.)

Go to court and find out. Every judge is different. He will ask if you did indeed park where you were cited, whatcha gonna say? Lie?

If you just ignore it and hope there is not enough info to find you, you run the risk of a warrant or collection agency coming after you.

If you parked illegally, man up and pay it.

Did you deserve the ticket??? You seem to be one of those "get over A**holes" that that took my Mom's handicapped space the other day.

He did not describe your car properly so maybe you can beat it. Why do they hire dyslectic color blind meter maids any way.???

Stop parking illegally and it won't come up again. How important do you think you are, anyway??

Sorry to say....no it's not. If you go to court and the judge asks you if it was your car, you'll have to say yes.

"Yes it's my car, but the officer is color blind" is not going to cut it.

Of course you could hire a lawyer, but....is it really worth it?
