I do. I feel it is because who cares who I vote for, who are I contribute to because it doesn't matter in the end - Hillary Clinton is going to win the Democratic nomination. That's all I hear is Hillary, Hillary Hillary! I'm so burned out on her, and Barack Obama.

As you all know, China is NOT the nation of Han people, but rather a state of many minorities. China is not trying to eliminate them, but rather has promoted the growth of minority populations (e.g. one child policy doesn't apply to them) and granted them affirmative action to give them more power, education, etc. How well it actually works is questionable.. still, the Han dominated gov clearly intends to keep all the different nationalities united as one "Chinese people" -guomin-

Now, nationalism is often times ethnic (race), or civic (political participation). Chinese identity and nationalism is clearly not ethnic based, as explained. But it's not civic either since it's not democratic, and so a Manchu cannot say he's Chinese because he votes and is represented in the government (as in the USA).

So what does it mean to be Chinese? Is it simply that you live within the borders? Or does it not exist, China being simply a multiethnic empire like Ancient Rome or Austria-Hungary?

Sarcasm of course:
"He posed as a... volunteer under a false name. Stole the campaign stationary. Ginned up 1,000 invitations to the opening reception for Dixon headquarters promising "free beer, free food, girls and a good time for nothing" and distributed them where Chicago's hippies and drunken hobos congregated."
"In 1973 the Republican National Committee hired the Young Master at $9,200 per year ($43,000 in today's money) to give seminars that included lessons in political dirty tricks. At one, he was recorded giving lessons on how to root through an opponent's garbage." And his reply:"What's wrong with that?"
"The RNC head who hired him was George H.W. Bush. Fast friends he became with the Bush family, especially their fake-cowboy son George Jr. Onwards and upwards with the Bush family and the Republican Party."
And it is rumoured he will work with Fred Thompson...

My husband came home today and told me that his supervisor wants him to take off his wedding rings while he is working and my husband has been told they cannot legally make him take it off. They are trying to say it's some kind of hazard but they can wear stud earrings and watches and they can wear their badges around their necks so why not wear a wedding ring? My husband is refusing to take his off. He feels he didn't stand up there and take his vows and been married for 7 years to take his wedding ring off and/or it get lost or stolen. They told him he could take it off and put it on his key ring and come on now...The key ring could damage his wedding ring and how many people lose their key rings? Then they said he could put it in his wallet...again how many people lose their wallets or they get stolen? I just think its not ethical for an employer to make someone take off their wedding bands. Am I wrong? Isn't it against the law to make someone take off their wedding rings?

The word is losing more meaning every day. When I was growing up a Terrorist was civilian who targeted civilians for acts of deadly violence to make a political statement and was not officially authorized by any government.
A recognized nations armed force could not be a terrorist group because it actions were officially sanctioned by a government.
A resistance movement was not a terrorist group so long as they targeted military, military support or political targets.

We keep changing the word. If we change it constantly to fit whatever we want then the word doesn't mean anything anymore. So why should it matter if we call them terrorist when that word only means whatever we say it means at the moment? We could call them the Nazis with exactly the same amount of accuracy.

I consider myself a Liberal on social issues and a moderate on ecomonic issues. Even though capitalism is not perfect I believe it can be used for the good of society but left unchecked it also corrupts. What's weird though is that I have always admired men who were against capitalism...like Che Guevara for example. Is it normal to see anti-capitalists as heroes and still support globalization?
