I work in retail sales and was messing around on the computer and found out that I had an interview for a position with in the store and the interview took place but I was not at that interview and it was stated that I did not qualify for the job is there any action that can be taken on this subject thanks for the help and yes I did speak with the Store Manager and he said he did not know how the interview got into the system even though I have the name and date of the interview and the interviewer what should I do?

This record is erroneous. Maybe the interview actually took place, with another person pretending to be you. Maybe the interview did not take place at all. If there was in fact no interview, and you can prove it, you need a manager with authority to tell an IT person with knowledge to delete the false record. If there was an interview, and you were not there, and you can prove it, the matter is somewhat more serious - somebody impersonated you at the interview, which may be a crime in your area. If you never got notice that the interview was to take place, and you wanted and had applied for the job, and a false record was created for you to fail the interview you never had, you may have a cause for action with State or Federal employment enforcement agencies. What you can do depends on what you can prove - without proof, the system record stands as assumed correct.

Yes. Sounds like they used you to get someone hired. Get a lawyer!

Legally, probably nothing, but if you start talking to everyone that you can, you will start a lot of controversy.
