Is legislating morality a good idea? Is this different than when the far right in the U.S. tries to legislate morality in the U.S.?

Bush, and the other hawks at the pentagon were planning the Iraq war before Bush even took his oath. With all that planning, why did he not have any plans to fix the VA also? Does he really care that little about out troops? It was bad enough sending them to war based on lies, and sending them without the proper body armor, vehicle armor, and weapons. But to then deny them proper health care, and medical benefits is inexcuasable. What is wrong with bush?

Yea, so my wallet was stolen out of my purse. Yes, it was over the weekend and I was wasted. My social security card was in my purse along with 2 credit cards. I just had to get a new SSN card because I recently got maried and unfortunately it was in there. I called SS department and had my credit cards canceled. What else should I do to prevent identity theft?

We received a threatening letter from a neighbor earlier specifically indicating that he planned to call animal control on the pets in our neighborhood (understandable, considering the irresponsible owners out there), but also would lay out poison to kill the animals that continued to go near his lawn. As a concerned pet owner, I just want to know if there's a way to take legal action against him, or if it's simply something we need to work out on our own.

This question is in relation to an answer I read which stated that Republicans want to rid programs for the deserving poor. [This is not verbatim, but will serve our purposes here].

I am not against providing a helping hand to anyone when they need it. However, the poor have the same opportunities in life as anyone else. I came from a poor family and have done quite well for myself. I didn't do it by waiting for someone to provide a handout, but rather by gaining an education and then engaging in hard work. So my question is what makes the poor so deserving?

Wouldn't it be double standard and hypocrisy all over again?

(I know they impeached Clinton for perjury, you don't have to remind me-but they tried on grounds of an affair)

US is one of the countries touting democracy and equal opportunity, but when it comes to elect a female to be a Chief Commander, even the Christian leaders do not fail to trump up tales and badmouth about her and things in her bedroom, let alone the males counterpart? Are they afraid that she might discover their incompetencies all along?
