Make absolutely no mistake but that the Republican party in 2000 deliberately chose Bush as only a Presidential "Front Man" with others having the "authority" to be the "real President"

This group of course were/are the neo-cons whose public leader is Cheney but whose membership incudes/included Rumsfeld,Pearle and Wolfiwitz all powerful high office holders of Bush's first term.

Cheney was not elected (save as the VP choice of the elected President) and has absolutely no constitutional right to act as the President and wield the powers of the President but as we are now beginning to see that in many respects Cheney has been the de facto President with the old empty headed substance abuser Bush only the Window Dressing.

This is in fact an extremely anti-democratic situation which should have all americans joining in the fight to impeach Cheney.

Cheney is your classical democracy hating right wing elitist authoritarian despot who is accountable to NO ONE save that idiot in the Oval Office who has been a total business failure,a drunk husband and father .

The spoilt arrogant Bush JUNIOR has always relied on his pappy to bail him out be it to save his preppy little hide from the draft to getting the Saudi family to buy his wortheless failed business.

Cheney to Bush JUNIOR is simply a father fiqure which Junior needs desperately to tell him what to do and how to do it just like his real pappy.

To answer the question; Cheney has been an un-mitigated disaster who has used and abused Bush's weak,un-worldly alchohol destroyed mind .

Old news. Obama said that during the campaign. He also said that the supports civil unions, the end of don't ask/don't tell, ending work place discrimination against gays and other gay rights issues. He is also not going to work against gay marriage initiatives, even though he thinks civil unions are a better way to go. I haven't agreed with anything Cheney has said or done in the past 8 years but now, because of this one issue, I'm supposed to think he's a wonderful guy? Forget it. He's still a scumbag and like the saying goes, even a stopped clock is right twice a day.

That was silly him being appointed President in case Bush wasn't able to be there. He would have automatically been President if Bush was incapacitated , that was was so silly, boy he was strutting. I heard him tell Imus that he tested the waters to run for President and he wouldn't have stood a chance, he is already the President, Bush is his Page boy anyway, so why appoint him he has already appointed himself in 2000.

I think the Cheney administration was the least controversial in the last 200 years. He kept us out of war, didn't raise taxes, there were no scandals, nobody had to resign, and the stock market went up. Remember, he was a republican.

Well, the weather in Northern Virginia was great, so it may just have been a dark cloud where you are.

Dick Cheney was never President. I know... if we'd just pay our teachers more we wouldn't keep producing "graduates" that don't know basic civics and government.

I would give him about equal standing with every other vice president we have had. (ok, none has shot his good friend that I remember).
