In Crane's case, it was a 1980 relationship with a female page and in Studds's case, it was a 1973 relationship with a male page. Both representatives admitted to the charges and the committee recommended reprimand for the two.

ABC, the current scourge of congressional teen-sex scandals, reported nothing – until Reynolds was convicted a year later, on August 23, 1995. In fact, on May 13, 1994, ABC featured Reynolds in a "Person of the Week" speaking out in favor of two Chicago ladies fighting child molesters

If John McCain, a fairly popular conservative (at least until he backed Bush's "surge" plan) can't break the 10 million mark, doesn't that just prove that the Republican party is on it's way out the door?

If not, can any Republican tell me how the current Republican frontrunners (Romney and Guiliani) will differentiate themselves from the disasterous policies of George W. Bush and his kangaroo congress?

It was 1987! At a lecture the other day they were playing an old news video of Lt.Col. Oliver North testifying at the Iran-Contra hearings during the Reagan Administration.

There was Ollie in front of God and country getting the third degree, but what he said was stunning!

He was being drilled by a senator; "Did you not recently spend close to $60,000 for a home security system?"

Ollie replied, "Yes, I did, Sir."

The senator continued, trying to get a laugh out of the audience, "Isn't that just a little excessive?"

"No, sir," continued Ollie.

"No? And why not?" the senator asked.

"Because the lives of my family and I were threatened, sir."

"Threatened? By whom?" the senator questioned.

"By a terrorist, sir" Ollie answered.

"Terrorist? What terrorist could possibly scare you that much?"

"His name is Osama bin Laden, sir" Ollie replied.

At this point the senator tried to repeat the name, but couldn't pronounce it, which most people back then probably couldn't. A couple of people laughed at the attempt. Then the senator continued. Why are you so afraid of this man?" the senator asked.

"Because, sir, he is the most evil person alive that I know of", Ollie answered.

"And what do you recommend we do about him?" asked the senator.

"Well, sir, if it was up to me, I would recommend that an assassin team be formed to eliminate him and his men from the face of the earth."

The senator disagreed with this approach, and that was all that was shown of the clip.

By the way, that senator was

Al Gore!

I mean - 80% of people believe anything their favorite media outlet presents.

It is no secret that mainstream media is bought and paid for at Government levels.

Example: The attack on Michael Moore after the release of "Sicko" CNN blasted him and said he fabricated findings only to come out a week later on Wolf Blitzer and apologize for lying and covering it up on behalf of the Health Insurance Companies.

World known Scholars and Physicists have found evidence of Thermite - which used in controlled demolition in the dust at all World Trade Center collapses.

They have proven there is no video of a plane hitting the Pentagon. The most secure building in America with hundreds of camera angles - yet not one image of a plane coming in or hitting.

They have documented people who worked for and were with Dick Cheney when he gave the order from his bunker to stand down - meaning - do not shoot down the hijacked planes.

In fact it has been proven. They just don't cover it!

I'm totally freaking out about the government. George Bush has been signing executive orders left and right which grant him rights, essentially, as dictator in the event of a national emergency.

That's here: http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2007/05/20070509-12.html

Also, last week he signed an order that gives him the right to steal the property of any individual who 'threatens stabilization efforts in Iraq'. I've heard people argue that this only applies to people who use violence, but I don't buy it. What if he decided that this very question threatened "stabilization efforts"?

You can read that one here: http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2007/07/20070717-3.html

So what I'm asking, I guess, is am I right to be utterly terrified of the government? I can absolutely see a staged "terrorist attack" in the next few months which allows Bush to strip us of all rights and rape us as he pleases.

Tell me I'm not crazy.

For example, the US switched permanently to income taxes in 1913. But why? What was the motivation? I understand that the US gov't obtained revenue from tariffs before that. What was wrong with the tariff system? Did it have a negative effect on the economy? FOR EXTRA STARS: What about other governments? When did they switch, why, etc. I'd love a web stie that has a list of countries and their revenue/tax schemes.

S As executor of a will, I have distributed funds, what should I do if another will comes to light?
I am the executor of the will of my late step mother who passed away in Jan. The will has been logged with probate, I have gathered in all assets, paid the inheritance tax and distributed money to beneficiaries. I have kept accounts and done everything in accordance with the law. my fellow executor is not a beneficiary & has been difficult. He says there must be another will, & a few months ago he said another will was logged with a solicitor. I phoned the solicitor & found it was an old will that had been cancelled. The other executor is now saying another will has come to light, that leaves nothing to the current beneficiaries. He has not given me a copy of the will or shown me any proof. Naturally, this is very distresing to the existing beneficiaries, and to myself.

Please can anyone tell me what I should do if he produces a new will. Would the beneficiaries have to return their bequests and/or would I be liable? I am vworried he will forge one as he seems so bitter

Because the economy was starting to tank right at end of Clinton's time in office and the Democrats didn't want to take the hit they ran such a bad campaign Gore lost to Bush. Even their pseudo questioning of the Florida count didn't make sense. They were by law granted an automatic recount of the entire state and they chose to cherry pick recounts ONLY where they already had a wide margin didn't make sense.

Democrats have complained about Bush's handling of the economy since day one and yet the market has been repeatedly hitting all time highs.

Sooner or later the market will take a big hit. It won't be Bush's fault if it happens on his watch. He doesn't actually control the economy anyway. But if the economy stays good through most of next year will they run another bad campaign so their person doesn't get elected again?
