corporations have always put profit before the peoples health?
has this disgusting thought process trickled down to the general population?
is money now more important than life itself?

to measure a person's life against money is to think/act with out conscience.
this is simply disgusting.

They would begin to have a life, 3 squares a day, free medical attention, training, build up credit for college, monthly pay, they would get their heads out of where the sun don't shine!
I would think almost anything is better than what they are now doing.

My son is much better off with me, his mother doesn't work, has 3 other kids all by different men, lives off of food stamps. She does have a live in boyfriend, which my finacee and I also live together. In her care my 5 year old son has missed 11 days of school his first year in kindergarden, which he did pass. I am always the one to take him to the DR. as she will not ever take him. She has let her boyfriend spank my son to the point that welts were left on his legs from a belt for a few days. I did call Social Services, and they just don't give a crap, they check out there home and later dropped the case. Also she lets my son watch really bad movies, like pg-13, and he is only 5. I guess my question is, should I just get over it, and have to learn to deal with the way it is, I mean I see my son 50% of the time, but at this point I feel he needs more stability, instead of back and fourth, we live 25 miles apart. Or should I fight for full custody??

I know it might take years, but there's a perfect example of a first world country taking care of sick people the way they're supposed to taken care of. Just copy it exactly how it is, it works, STOP TURNING AWAY PEOPLE WITH CANCER, that's no way for the world's most powerful country to act.

HMO's are the republican answer to managed healthcare. It was SUPPOSED to lower costs and reduce paperwork. It's done the opposet.
Our prices are spiraling out of control. And just try and use it for something other then a splinter.

Soldiers? Congress people? Small business owners? Children? Elderly? WHO in your opinion deserves healthcare? Should everyone have to pay for it? If you believe that tax dollars should not fund it, would you vote to cut off those who are emplyed with tax dollars? Like soldiers, law makers, president, etc..?

The S.1105 Hate Crimes Bill (often referred to as the Matthew Shepard Act) was introduced in the Senate last Wednesday as an amendment to the Defense Authorization Bill which involves funding for the war in Iraq. What do hate crimes have to do with the war in Iraq? Absolutely nothing!

In my opinion this is nothing but a trick to force the President to sign the bill....and a dirty trick at that.

The police officer told her that all she needed was the Bill of Sale and today when she went to the Probate office, they told her that she also needed her title. would it better for to just pay the ticket or just appeal

lets think about this for one simple second. The government wastes money on everything, hell everybody knows the story of the $300 hammer, the $500 toilet seat. With that knowledge do you really believe the government could come up with at taxpayer expanse a good medical care system that is not full of kickbacks to campaign contributers, and themselves,

But it does not seem possible that without an Army, Navy, Airforce, National Guard or any kind of sophiticated weapons they are a threat? Are we to believe that every person who wants to injure Americans is a member of AlQuida? Who exactly is the enemy? And why don't we know where, and who they are?
And if we win, who surrenders to us? and who signs the treaty?

Parricide is the killing of one's parents. Do you think that child abuse should be taken into account at all? If so, how? I disagree with the sentence of life in prison for youths (under 18) when the crime is parricide and they've endured a lifetime of severe abuse. Do you rehabililation and treatment is a better answer?

Those that are insured pay for advertising, golden parachutes, malpractice insurance, emergency room visits for the uninsured, etc. and yet there are still 45 million Americans not covered. Insurance companies are in business to make a profit. I'm not against making profits, but are they the best way to take care of health issues?

I've heard more bad than good regarding HMOs and what they will cover versus what they don't - that decisions are made for monetary reasons versus medical reasons. One arguement is that people without coverage wait until almost too late to get treatment, increasing the overall costs compared to if the illness had been treated in its early stages. Is this the best system we can come up with?

Another poster asked if free health care was a basic human right and satirized it by comparing it to getting free HBO. How can anyone compare the two?I think that most of us here would agree that people have the right to LIVE, and in order to live, it is sometimes necessary to get health care. Unfortunately, though, not everyone can afford it.
