But it does not seem possible that without an Army, Navy, Airforce, National Guard or any kind of sophiticated weapons they are a threat? Are we to believe that every person who wants to injure Americans is a member of AlQuida? Who exactly is the enemy? And why don't we know where, and who they are?
And if we win, who surrenders to us? and who signs the treaty?

In many ways, this is the perfect war for Hawks: it can never end.

We can no more "win" the war on terror than we can win the war on crime.

And honestly, the war on terror is substantially less real than the war on crime: 20,000+ Americans were murdered last year alone. How many died in terrorist attacks?

I've heard many of the far right talk show hosts who backed George in his war on Iraq now trying to claim that al-Qaeda is not a group of people but an ideology. That tells you right there the war is unwinnable because you can beat an ideology with guns and bombs.

and how do you defeat a tactic?

is every patriot who fights to repel invaders from their country a terrorist now?

How can we be fighting alquaeda this long in afghanistan,Iraq and elsewhere for so long, and yet they be as strong as ever now? Should we be ecstatic about having the terrorists on the run and also acknowledge they are not getting weaker but stronger?......sort of like pouring gasoline on a raging fire....???
