Reagan is the biggest hoax besides 9/11 perpetuated on the american people. he is seen as a nice old caring man but he was nothing more than a corporate puppet in sheeps clothing, selling out the middle class and paving the way for the diabolical neocons of today. behind reagan's warm smile is the disgusting smirk of GWB

Reagan is one of the most over-rated presidents in US history. Unfortunately, as the person above pointed out, Reagan was little more than a corporate puppet.

Many of the Reagan fans have a myth. It is that the SDI - the Star Wars defense system bankrupted the Soviet Union. Unfortunately, as Andrei Sakharov (the man who headed the Soviet H-Bomb project) pointed out, the Soviet Union would only have to spend a tenth (if even that) to make the SDI useless. Ultimately, the Soviet Union collapsed not because of Reagan, but because of economic mismanagement, and suppression of the various populations in the USSR, which led to its collapse. The very fact that the CIA and Bush senior did not have the imagination to understand the remarkable developments in the USSR suggests that we give Reagan too much credit.

One example is the aspartame approval process in the FDA. Reagan KNEW for sure that aspartame was potentially carcinogenic to people. However, he managed to replace the FDA early on and get it approved. Now aspartame has probably led to increased brain tumors.

Check your history. Senator Ted Kennedy wrote the bill. I belong to an HMO. My monthly premiums are about $300 lower than the employer's straight health insurance program. Basic math shows my annual savings to be $3,600.

You misspelled "opposite."
