Anyone know why the pay as you go rule was abandonned?
During the 90's when the republicans controlled congress and the Democrats controlled the white house, a bi-partisen agreement was reached that any time a program was proposed that included increased spending, it had to be offset by reducing spending somewhere else. After George Bush was elected, the republicans controlled Congress and the Whitehouse. At that time pay as you go was abandoned. It seemed like very logical idea and have never understood why it was pushed to the side.

The US Government: has military bases (violating the soveriegnty of other nations, making them our vassals), tortures and holds indefinitely for no apparent reason its own and others' citizens at Camp X-Ray. Has international institutions (IMF, WTO, World Bank, USAID) that work to harm the poor and prop up regimes that torture and murder their own citizens. Arrests people for showing up to a Bush rally wearing an antiwar t-shirt but protects pornography as "free speech". The last two elections were stolen.

WE have become the evil empire. Is it a situation of power corrupts? Are all countries THIS evil? Its happening here, people. Our democracy is whithering away and dying before our very eyes! Does it happen everywhere? Is there some kind of cycle where countries get hijacked by evil people and then everyone rises up to fight them and then the scum slowly rises to the top to begin the cycle anew?

Or are you going to pander to the loosing left and say happy holidays to cover all of the holidays that are in the December month.
Only a brainwashed political correct person would control your speach by require you to say Happy Holidays --before Christmas.
I have see WHITEY curl up and go doo-doo in his pants at the mere thought of being called a racist - and being linked to the KKK at the mere thought of saying a MERRY CHRISTMAS wish to another person.
So remember if someone says Happy Holidays ( BEFORE ) Christmas they are sheep controlled be the PC crowd.

Do people really think then when Pres Bush leaves office, there will be peace in the world?
