my nephew said he was sent home from the military because he had been made to change jobs more than three times. He said they dropped him off at the airport and that was that. 1 month later the sherrif knocks on their door to arrest him for being awol. He never told us anything. Now I'm having trouble believing what he tells us. He was sent back got other than honorable discharge and was sent home in a week. Is it possible he did more than just runway to get that discharge? What is the normal punishment for awol?

Last night my husband was on the way to work (night shift at the post office) and was keeping up with traffic and using his cruise control in our new car (two door coupe) (had a mini-van in front of him) on the interstate. He was stopped by a police officer. The officer sat in his car for awhile and then approached the car. At first he asked my husband if he was racing another car...which he was not. The officer immediately asked my husband where his glasses were. My husband began to explain that he had lasik and did not wear them anymore. The officer stated that he should be carrying something to verify the lasik and told my husband that he could cuff him up and put him in the back of the cruiser and take him to jail for this. He said something to the effect that my husband was lucky he was not going to arrest him. The ticket states that the officer paced him for 1 mile at 81 in a 65. My hubby was of course polite due to the fact that his father and uncle were law enforcement..

Since there is not racism any more, except for AA and its discrimination against whites, isn't it time to end with it already?

Who is willing to do it? I will vote for him!

I mean since we are there to "liberate" them and all shouldn't what they want for their country be a consideration? If so why are we still there when over 70% of the population says life is worse than under Saddam and they want us to leave, Malaki has said just this week they can provide for their own security without us, so why are we staying?

March 25,1982 is when Kennesaw passed a law requiring all heads of house hold to have at least one gun in their home.It was followed by a dramatic drop in crime. This was in response to Marton Grove,IL passing a law that banned handgun ownership and the crime rate increased afterward.
Why is the media not zeroing in on Kennesaw. This is hard evidence that an armed citizenry is the best way to fight crime.
Also note that both of these towns are roughly the same size and have the same population. So the number of people can't be used against Kennesaw.I'm not saying we should have mandatory gun ownership nation wide, you also have the right not to bear armes. But I do think strict gun control is not the way to go either.
Most would think a pro-gun nut like myself would use the lenient gun laws in Switzerland as an example, but I think its best to use a place in my own country as one.
I also don't see evidence that gun control lowers crime. Do you agree?
