Yes you can come back in and change your MOS. All of that depends on your RE code located on the bottom right of your DD FM 214. Contact your local Army Recruiter. And no you will not need to re-do BCT, at the most, you may have to take the Warrior Training Course (WTC) (4 Week Refresher) at White Sands Missle Range, NM.

I've worked with Recruiters and it's been my experience that many prior service personel do not have to go through basic. I had some who wanted to go back through basic to get back into shape, but they couldn't. About the MOS thing... as long as your ASVAB was good, I don't see why you couldn't change MOS's. You just need to be addament about getting the MOS you want. Don't take no for an answer. They can give you what you want, as long as you left the military under good terms.

Sorry Dude needs of the Army come first my sister tried going back in with an MOS change they told her no go. She could go back but have to keep same MOS. My husband recently went back in he was 11M (now 11B) they need combat arms bad. Oh side note my sister even got a college degree in a different field while out and that didn't help her cause.

Yes you can re-enter and keep your rank (usually), and yes you should be able to change your MOS. You need to of course have the ASVAB scores to support the new MOS. You can retake the ASVAB and dont worry about doing worse on it, you will qualify for your old MOS no matter what happens.

With less than 2 years out, you shouldnt have to go back to basic.

Your time in service and discharge rank are very important as there are time / rank requirements that must be met.

Also you will need your DD214 and have valid codes, with no 'lost time' (AWOL)

Y E S!! Basic Training is not required for prior service personnel, but check with a US Army Recruiter first and follow through on their information!!

Check with your Army Recruiter as for mos change.
I believe if you are out under two years you only have to go to a 30 day Acclimation course. But it changes so much you would be better to check with a recruiter they have online sites.

No and no. Well depends if the service will take you back active at a new MOS. I was a 19D and I couldn't change. Recruiter told me that combat arms has a hard time doing that. If I as going to change I would have had to go reserves to get a new MOS.

As for boot, there is like a 2 year window from your ETS.

Yes...the Army is so desperate for people that they would work with ya, however remember that in the army that your first job is to be an infantryman and then whatever you MOS is second.
I am almost certain that you won't have to go back through basic training, but of course you will have to go back through training for whatever MOS you end up getting.
