Sure... And just what have they accomplished lately ?

Quit worrying about drugs and just don't do them. That how you stop the war on drugs. Stop taking them. Prescription or none.

Drugs used to legal. All the trouble started when they were made illegal. Alcohol used to be illegal. The only thing that should be a crime is how people behave after they have used a drug. In my opinion, the laws banning drugs are stupid. I say that we either ban alcohol or make all drugs legal. Alcohol is a liquid drug that causes more problems than any other drug. Drunk drivers are killing people every day. You never hear that someone got so stoned by smoking a marijuana cigarette that they murdered a bunch of people. I think that marijuana smokers would simply get too hungry to leave the house, then be so tired that they couldn't move off the couch. And they're put in prision for using it while some drunk sits in a bar, filling up with alcohol before he/she gets in their vehicle and heads out on the road. The laws are ridiculous. Someone has to get a clue. At least if drugs were legal, there could be more regulation on them. Yes, I believe there would be a lot less crime if drugs were legal. I don't mean that they should be sold over-the-counter, to anyone who wants them. They're drugs. They should be sold in prescription form. Some of our laws and lack of them really piss me off. Lawmakers should be more concerned about the pedophiles & murderers than mariguana smokers. Some States are still refusing to pass Jessica's Law. What a bunch of losers. It is my belief that anyone who stands in the way of passing a law to protect children from sexual predators is probably a sexual predator himself.

I do no a bit more about the situation in the Netherlands. First, the number of "coffee shops" which peddle marijuana are being cut in number. Secondly, the Netherlands and other EU countries are having a big time problem with Ecstasy.
Don't know about the crime issue. But, take a look at places like Morocco. How is their worker productivity compared to us.
Sorry, but I've known too many "dopers" in my life. Haven't much use for them.

Yes I think so to an extent because if you made drugs legalized then the people who buy them would buy them legally and that would eliminate drug dealers on the streets, and the crime that goes along with that.

Drugs will never be legalized cause the government makes to much money off of busting people anyway, etc...

Hi!, I gotta tell you that i am totally anti-hard drugs, (whizz,(speed) and upward). However, where Dope and Grass are concerned you have a real point.
I think it is fair to say that the most harmful element in these two is the Tobacco required to smoke it. Compared to Alcohol it's a godsend in the Social sense.
If the law was relaxed in respect of my chosen candidates, then the Police could channel there resources into catching Crack-dealers and the like instead of investing two Officers and x amount of time and x amount of money to bring in someone for a tiny peice of whatever and eventually letting him go anyway.

Thanks for reading, take care. C.J

If drugs were legalized, the crime rate in our country will skyrocket. That will be the time when you would rather stay at home than go to the mall. And even in your own home, you won't feel safe.

Yes, because even legalized they would still cost money and people would still have to kill and steal to get them. Drugs do nothing but make people heartless even to the loved ones they leave for the drugs.

Unlikely.

Most of the convictions for drug-related crimes are for possession or personal use. Very few are for actually committing violence or harm to property because of drug use.

So, if we eliminated the crimes of drug use and possession, and simply punished people for harms they cause to others (rather than just the risk of harm they might cause), we'd be able to have a much greater impact on reducing violent crimes, and a much less problem with secondary effects.

They are only not a victimless crime because they are illegal. If they could be bought and used openly, there would be no need for stealing, etc. And we would have a lot more resources available to deal with people who use drugs and then commit violent acts because of that use.

The crime rate would drop, our prisons would empty, no more "war on drugs"....I advocate legalizing all of them, tax them and sell them..provide free clean needles....

Then let the lowlife's shoot themselves up and off the face of the earth.....another problem solved.

Yes lets look at Holland.
Um their only real source of income is supplying you with drugs when you go to visit.
And how about them prostitute.
Could you imagine your daughter or son saying they're going to sell them selves to make a living.
