he was in office?

Remember Somalia, Cobart Towers, USS Cole, and the problems in Bush and Reagan years.

Do people really think then when Pres Bush leaves office, there will be peace in the world?

This problem existed long before 2000. This problem will exist for the next president. This is a war of terrorism against freedom and democracy.

Can liberals quit the partisanship and actually admit this?

WOW! The defeatest attitude that our country has some how chosen to accept is disgusting. Things like "we can't win", "terrorism is unbeatable", "the whole thing is our fault", must really show the world how a superpower should act, a whinning child.

1) We are fighting Al Qiada not Iraq theory-
During WWII, as Hitler was tearing across Europe (seemingly without any opposition), if we would have chosen this same spinless attitude, the world would be speaking German. And, YES, it is the same. To use the answer of a previous ignoramous, If you pull out your unbiased history book, you will notice that Hitler had U-boats as far south as the Gulf of Mexico and he sunk American ships in the Atlantic not far off OUR southern coast. I wonder why he stopped, maybe BECAUSE WE TOOK THE WAR TO HIM??? Saddam was threat to us and the entire region, if you can't see that you are a lost cause. If we don't go there, where? Pakistan is a freindly nation, but won't let us in. How does it look to start war with a country that likes us?? If we don't go to Iraq, they come here.

2) Terrorism is unbeatable theory-
People who subscribe to this must in the gynocological profession, because they sure smell like ..... Anyway, does this mean we should all grow black beards, enslave our wifes and start praying toward Mecca. They will not stop until they have taken over the whole world. Their desire to conquer is the same sick desire Hitler hand; TO CLEAN THE EARTH OF THOSE NOT LIKE ME.

Maybe liberals should start ending their answers with "Praise Allah". It seems it is what they want in the long run.

I suggest you get an unbiased history book and get educated on the fundamentals of American foreign policy over the past 75 years. After you have done that, I suggest you close your eyes and imagine you are an Arabian who has had to endure the repression, military pressures, economic sanctions and selected dictators that the USA has inflicted on your country. Would you fight back with the only means at your disposal, or would lie down while the oppressors have their way with your wife, children, religion and country?

I love America, but I fear we have overstepped our moral, ethical and evangelical christian bounds. No, the problem will not go away with Bush. It started long before Bush when American leaders thought it our destiny to control the resources and the peoples of the world.

I'm sure not to get points for this answer, but if I can get you to pick up a history book, perhaps one more misguided American may find a basis to understand there is always two sides to every story!

What I know is something that even though is shown to the people, they ignore it. I'm not aware of what happens in US, but I know that THE WAR IS A FAKE!!! You should consider why did started: the twin towers in NYC. But something interesting is that what Bush wanted was Hussein, who didn't participate on 9/11 attacks, but that's what Bush wanted. people in the government admitted that Iraq has not much to do with the terrorists, just the religion. Attacking Iraq would mean the US can obtain free oil by killing thousands of innocent ppl that never harmed the US, but that doesn't matter to any one! they just want more power and money! Remember that the US put a new government in Iraq, a government they control and which they can use to obtain oil and of course, power out there. The US army on Iraq is just for saving the appearance and maintaining power, because that's what wars are all about: power and money.

The war against terrorism is a fake, Bush just wants to get money and power over Iraq.

You are correct...the problem of terrorism has existed for a very long time. Munich '72, Entebbee, Lockerbie, the Rome and Munich airport shootings, numerous hijackings, etc. etc.

The rest of the world was involved in the struggle with terrorism long before Somalia, the USS Cole, the embassies in Africa, or 9/11.

The US is a "Johnny come Lately" to this global problem.

But let's be honest about the causes of terrorism. What they want has nothing to do with our freedom or our democracy. They don't want our freedom or our democracy.

So what do they want?? #1 they want American Culture and ideas out of their socieites and off their lands.

The most important concept to understand with the people in these regions of the Middle East is that they resent the humiliation that they feel and they feel humiliated by the West and most especially the US.

We know that they resent humiliation and that is why our intelligence community used humiliation tactics at Abu-Grahib and other places.

Terrorism is born from this humiliation. It's time for Americans to stop being the source of this humiliation.

You are right the problem existed. You are very right. Osama was created by the CIA and you know why? Americans wanteed to support the Taliban against Russia back in the 70s but the Taliban wont take money or weapons from the US cuz they beleived its sinned money since gambling and drinking is allowed in this country. Stupid concept really.

Osama was the middle man doing the giving.

Ok now all the attacks were outside of the US and mroeover all the countries in the world have terror problems. You agree?

Is it ok for 45 million people to live in poverty and die cuz of no health insurance. I am not saying the war is Bush's war but it happened during his period

Sorry. President Clinton signed into law the order to remove Saddam from power. If anyone lied, it was he The Iraq Liberation Act of 1998 (Public Law 105-338) (codified in a note to 22 USCS § 2151) is a United States Congressional statement of policy calling for regime change in Iraq; it was signed into law by President Bill Clinton.

It's Bush's war, because things got a lot worse for us when he reared his ugly ****. The problem isn't that we're at war, it's that we didn't seem to plan it out AT ALL. We got over there, we took Baghdad, we got Saddam...... Now what? We're left with a country that's boned if we leave. It's going to be AT LEAST a decade before Iraq can fend for itself, let alone help us, which is the probably the most commonly stated reason republicans like to think we're over there for. Bush's idea wasn't a bad one, but his plan was very flawed.

As people have stated all along a war against terrorism is impossible to win .
Once you can accept this fact that is written in stone you will come to accept that spending billions and billions of dollars on saving a hand full of lives is ridiculous .

More people suffer and die do to diverting those funds from where they can do the most good .

If we want to slow the terrorists down then we need to make it clear that its not just your life but your families life .

We make every effort to hunt down and kill the entire family of a terrorist . Cousins aunts uncles mothers fathers sisters and brothers we also kill his holy man . What ever place of worship he had is demolished .
This will send the proper message that you are your brothers keeper and if you can not keep him properly then you will suffer .
No one is innocent and I am tired of hearing that crap .

To many photos of kids with guns playing kill the Americans .
Give me a break .

If I thought the war had a chance I would sign up this instant but our government and people do not have the stones to wage a war that will win .

In the first place, the war with Iraq is not a war with Al Qaeda. Bush took his eye off going after Bin Laden and Al Qaeda to pursue giving an unwanted democracy to Iraq. This was in the planning long before 9/11 happened. Bin Laden and Saddam were old enemies and literally hated each other. Saddam would not let him in Iraq because he was afraid of losing control to him. Now with Saddams controls gone, it has become a haven for all sorts of bad people. Had Bush continued the efforts on getting rid of Bin Laden and Al Qaeda and not gone on the Iraqi tangent, we would probably be a lot safer now. All he has done by this is to make more terrorists in vendetta for the 700,000+ innocents and Iraqi killed there. That has cost us the hatred of the world. Bush used the tragedy of 9/11 to get into his war that was on his agenda for months before 9/11. Invading Iraq made as much sense as invading Canada. They never threatened the USA or attacked the USA and none of the hijackers were Iraqi. Now, thanks to Bush and his obsession with Iraq, Al Qaeda is bigger and stronger and even more filled with hatred of us. All he did was leave the chase of Bin Laden and let them regroup and regain their power only now the Muslim world has far more hatred of us because of a lot of dead innocents. And Halliburton's profits are up 800% thanks to him........363 Tons of cash sent to Iraq and never accounted for...........hmmmmmmmmmmm.

We're at war with Al Qaeda? Really?

Why aren't our troops massed in Afghan-Pakistan border? Where those terrorists are located.

Why are they in a country (Iraq) that offered no danger to us (until we invaded it)?

Now, that terrorist group is back to it's pre-9/11 strength.
UN-frickin-believable!

"Do people really think then when Pres Bush leaves office, there will be peace in the world?"

No....But we might be able to make some forward progress. His term cannot end soon enough.
