The building I recently moved into has a door (in the basement) which opens into the parking garage. The door locks from the INSIDE. Meaning, you cannot leave the building/enter the garage without a key. However, the same door is open from the OUTSIDE and you can walk right into the building. Granted, the door in the garage IS inside the garage. In order for someone to "walk right into" the building, they would have to be in the garage ~ either have a garage door remote or stealthily follow someone into the garage. I wonder if it isn't a fire hazard to have a door in a condo building which does not allow exit without a key. I would think it made more sense to allow ANYONE to EXIT the building, but only those with keys to ENTER the building from within the garage. Anyone know if this is in violation of Chicago Fire Code?

If I am robbed and I check my robber the next day can I legally hurt him or her without killing them. If I am shot and I find out the shooter the next day will I legally be allowed to commit this type of assault as long as no one is killed?

I know a girl that I went to college with. She managed to accumulate all of about 50 credits in 6 years. Her problem was that she just couldn't wake up in time to go to class. She went to about 10 doctors and one finally told her she had "schizo-effective disorder." Its not even a recognized condition, its just a label. She dropped out of college. She moved out of state. Somehow, she is getting money from the government every month to the tune of $1400, to compensate for the fact that she has this disorder. She tithes away $140 to church, and spends the rest on clothes. She currently has three credit cards with outstanding balances to the tune of $5000. She pays $20 a month on them. She has no job, not even at a fast food place.

Do you think its fair that the government is paying for this? Don't you think that this money woud be better suited elsewhere? Why should she live this way when people with real problems don't get funding? What can be done? She doens't deserve a free ride

1. The British are the most decent, well informed people on the planet.

2. The poll below, taken by the HIGHLY respected YouGov and in conjunction with SKY NEWS, shows 20% of the pop. would SERIOUSLY consider voting BNP and the majority want all immigration halted.
http://yougov.com/archives/pdf/omi060101069_1.pdf

Ergo, the BNP should be given more respect (and all immigration should be halted)

I ask this because I am a clear thinking individual. My clear eyes see blind, unbending support for a President that is universally seen as the worst thing to have happened to America and the world......I know this, even though I don't live in America...you see, I hate Bush, I hate Israel, I hate Christians. These people are not clear thinking like me. Most clear thinking people should see through all their rhetoric and be true pessimists, like me.

Do these people know something we don't? How could they? We are clear thinkers, they don't think at all, at least the way we think...right?

I am pro-choice, pro-gay rights, pro-gun, small government, limited taxes, end the war on drugs, privatized welfare/education.

I have told that I am not Libertarian. I have ton a lot of research into what a Libertatian is, and I feel I indentify as one, but, there are those who state that I am not.

Am I more Independent?

I don't know where I fit.

if that is the case ...how can we blame someone for thier point of view?..... because, if we negate them for thier point of view... does that not automatically negate our own point of view? why is our dead more precious then their dead? etc? etc? etc?

how would an outside observer with no invested interest judge the two sides of a conflict - like say a martian who knew nothing of our history and reason...what would this entitty think of our war? could a martian be compelled to take a side?

These are the same people, Malayan and Chinese, However, Indonesia is by far lagging behind in providing welfare for its people. It is such a difference walking around in Kuala Lumpur or Singapore compared to Jakarta, Surabaya or Makassar. It is the dirt, the lack of services, the quality of the museums and public services in general, the restaurants, the cafés. Could the way of government cause the difference? Indonesia experienced a dictatorship for 33 years with numerous victims. During that period, and even now, the role of the army is supreme. Corruption has expanded without any check. There was hardly a critical press. There has been decent changes of government in both Malaysia and Singapore without the shedding of blood. Neither Malaysia nor Singapore have gone to the extent of invading and occupying neighbouring states like Indonesia did in 1962 with West Papua and in 1975 with Portuguese Timor. Maybe also education is a factor.

I was thinking about this, and u must know that it is illegal in most countries to help someone die, like an elderly person.
Do you think it should be allowed if it is the person's wishes or do you think it is morally/lawfully wrong to take part in something like that? It's a pretty heavy, political and debatable question but i think it will have some interesting answers.

I admit I don't know too much about lobbyists, but to the best of my knowledge they can legally bribe congressmen to vote the way they want (through gifts) I know the gifts age given with no strings attached technically, but in reality they are bribes. Now does anyone in here thing this system is good? am I missing some key facts? Why do we as American citizens tolerate this? does some good come from it?

"I am a new American, but I grew up and worked for many years in Canada. And I know the health care system of my native country much more intimately than does Moore. There's a good reason why my former countrymen with the money to do so either use the services of a booming industry of illegal private clinics, or come to America to take advantage of the health care that Moore denounces.

Government-run health care in Canada inevitably resolves into a dehumanizing system of triage, where the weak and the elderly are hastened to their fates by actuarial calculation. Having fought the Canadian health care bureaucracy on behalf of my ailing mother just two years ago - she was too old, and too sick, to merit the highest quality care in the government's eyes - I can honestly say that Moore's preferred health care system is something I wouldn't wish on him."

I knew of a young man who spent about 3 years in the military
and he became a ''Carrier'' of a Genital (Organ) Disease,
BEFORE entering the Military.
Does the Military, do exams for this, or have a Set Law, to
Decline, to Accept Applicants, based on this ''NON-CURABLE
DISEASE ??"
This person was always, in the ''GENERAL POPULATION''
of the Military Activities, and using the "same facilities" as
the other enlisted persons.
I promote Public Awareness, for the Prevention of the
Spreading of this type of Disease.
We have so many Agencies, of Workers, & Institutions, where
many people of Society are constantly, into the ''general
population'', and I am greatly concerned about this matter.
And I hope that Other People are too.
One Young Lady Contracted it at the Age of 14. By age 30,
some of her female organs were decayed & the Disease had
attached itself, to the intestines, and eating away, there, began. Sad thing.
She lucked out,,to have one child, ONLY. NO MORE.
