I knew of a young man who spent about 3 years in the military
and he became a ''Carrier'' of a Genital (Organ) Disease,
BEFORE entering the Military.
Does the Military, do exams for this, or have a Set Law, to
Decline, to Accept Applicants, based on this ''NON-CURABLE
DISEASE ??"
This person was always, in the ''GENERAL POPULATION''
of the Military Activities, and using the "same facilities" as
the other enlisted persons.
I promote Public Awareness, for the Prevention of the
Spreading of this type of Disease.
We have so many Agencies, of Workers, & Institutions, where
many people of Society are constantly, into the ''general
population'', and I am greatly concerned about this matter.
And I hope that Other People are too.
One Young Lady Contracted it at the Age of 14. By age 30,
some of her female organs were decayed & the Disease had
attached itself, to the intestines, and eating away, there, began. Sad thing.
She lucked out,,to have one child, ONLY. NO MORE.

Before I entered medical school, I was a HM2 (hospital corpsman) for 3 years in the USN. Before entering the military, the applicants go through rigorous testing for drugs, sexual transmitted diseases, and pregnancy(women). When the applicants are going through their particular boot camps, more testing is done. While any military personnel is going through their tour of duty...the same testing applies, mainly drug testing. When a positive test for STDs are in effect, the medical personnel are to give notice to the individual. They are responsible for taking their medications, but medical do not make everyone aware of the person's illness. We take precautions to others by holding awareness classes...every 3 months. To promote safe sex...their is one personnel in our medical department who is a Safe Sex Advocate, who also speaks with personnel who have any questions about sexual awareness, checks the personnel with STDs, and holds the classes every 3 months to all divisions on the ship.

But we also have personnel who do not come to take their meds....that when proper actions are enforced.

When a personnel has the AIDS/HIV virus, certain actions are taken and proceeded. Confidentiality applies greatly to these individuals. They would not allowed on sea duty, but on shore duty.

The military only takes people healthy enough to do their jobs. I doubt they'd turn down a healthy person with herpes or other non-life threatening illness, but they might not take someone who is HIV positive.
The definition of VD is that it is only transmitted through sexual contact. The only exceptions to this are folks who work with blood (labs, doctors, nurses) and those few who have received infected blood transfusions (which doesn't happen much since they have developed better testing). With the exception of HIV/Aids and Herpes, there are now medications and vaccines (in the case of HPV) that cure or prevent most VD. You don't have anything to worry about as long as you choose your partners wisely and practice safe sex or, of course, abstain completely.
P.S. If you are promoting public awareness, it would be a good idea to go to a reliable web site like the Mayo Clinic, WebMD, or Planned Parenthood and get some factual information about this topic.

you wouldnt believe the number of people in military with a vd. it is extremely high because of the multiple partners. it is high stress and lonely being away from friends and family. there is a lot of unprotected sex and lots of partners. i know this because i was in the air force. it is gross but true. i got read the numbers once and it was ridiculous. most never show up back at the clicics to receive medications for it either. honest. they just accept it and share it and don't care. i had a friend once in there blurt out during lunch, its nothing pennicilin wont clear up. nonchelaunt. i was flabergasted. i would have been humiliated, not her. it is sad and there needs to be more awareness. thanks for what you do. but its a whole different world in the military. it would be hard to break through to them

The last time I checked it wasn't a problem. So long as they are not HIV positive, they will be fine. I know a few guys and gals that have Herpes and they get treated at the clinic. They are told what they should do to prevent passing it to partners etc. It will not get you kicked out of the military either, unless as I said before, it's HIV.

The funny thing is that these VD-infested soldiers who have multiple partners and who spread diseases in the military are the same people who object to the honorable service of gay men and women in the armed forces. These homophobic, VD-infested soldiers just try to blame someone else for their immoral behavior.

generally speaking there are no laws or regs against people with VD serving on active duty. people who have it coming in as well as those who contract it while in.

in most cases, having it is not a cause for alarm, as you can't just catch it by using the same toilet as someone else, and besides, they keep their facilities cleaner than most public schools do.
