How could he have done a WORSE job than Bush? First off, If Gore had been president he very likely wouldn't have ignored Richard Clarke's repeated warnings re Al Queda and Bin Laden. Secondly, he wouldn't have sat in his soiled drawers reading "My pet goat" for 20 minutes. And last, most importantly, he wouldn't have squandered the support and good will of the WHOLE rest of the world to pursue Bin Laden by starting an irrelevant and illegal war in Iraq.

IMAGINE some Indian government lady doctor allows her adult daughter to WATCH some patient's delivery (in proper clothings of O.T.) WITHOUT taking consent from that patient.
That lady doctors' daughter is neither medical professional nor medically qualified.
Isn't it Professional MISCONDUCT or
BREACH of professional SECRECY of patient?
At what amount they are punished for such act??

If a plain, ordinary civilian's life was in peril and so was the commander-in chief's (not political, just any elected c-i-c). And it was up to you save one of them. Who would you attempt to save the American or the politician?

Note: I see the family all the time and when they put their son away after the military funeral they ask all people to be happy he died doing what he loved. They said ( In Newspaper article) "We want all to laugh and be over joyed when they think about our wonderful son". Our son was a happy man and we want all to be happy over our son. So me and my friend bet 100 dollars on something.....he was convinced his car was a hybrid and I told him it wasn't, lol....we both shook hands and bet 100 bucks, and we had our mechanic friend confirm that his car was NOT a hybrid!
I told him he didn't have to pay me, but he's insisting. He's one of my best friends and I feel wrong about taking his money....I know we both shook hands but it seems silly, seems like an easy 100.....

How about if his business was to rob banks. Since all the money paid as taxes would be stolen money, would the tax people have to give it back to the banks from which it had been stolen?

Kurtz is trying to say how in war, to defeat a ruthless enemy you must be just as ruthless, but that will never happen because US troops in Iraq will never use the same tactics as the insurgents, because as he explains, "It is judgement that defeats us."

It is judgement that will defeat the US in Iraq. US troops cannot use the same ruthless tactics because of the judgement of the American people.

Personally liberals are more like Anti-liberals now. They push for all these changes that squash what our founding fathers planned when they wrote the constitution and the bill of rights.

The Bill of Rights

1-Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

but we can pass laws that make it so you cant talk about your religon in case it may offend somwone who doesn't believe as you. Or god forbid you don't have sopmethjing nice to say about a group of people. I hate lazy, apathetic people enough people start sating that they will get some silly name like slackerists or something and be sued in court for not supporting their right to sponge off the government that my tax dollars go toward.

Re-offending rates of former inmates are really high. I can't remember the rates for other countries but they are similar enough to NZ rates: 87% re-offend within 5 years. More than 1/2 of them go back to prison. And 70% of the youth that re-offend go back to prison.

So what do prisons do well? (keeping the community 'safe' for a time...) and what do they fail at? (everything else...). What are they main purposes of prisons?

Why do prisons not work? Why do rehabilitation programs not work? Does the prison overcrowding problem need to be dealt with, do alternative methods need to be considered, does everything (especially rehabilitation programs) need to financed heaps more? And if this happens, will 'prisons work'?
