What does it mean to be "LEGAL" at 18 anyway?

Anywaysss it my mind it makes it seem like since they call it, "Legal", that 18 means your "legally an adult now"....

BUT i think it Too Young, thats like FRESH OUT OF HIGHSCHOOL, most 18 yr olds r immature still anyway! why not keep it 21 years old or at least 20? i dont get it

I have watched a movie (not released internationally but only regionally and not in America). I liked its basic idea. Can i write a book using that idea but with different characters and story or will i be subject to violating any laws?

It seems that we are over there until Iraq's government reaches certain "Benchmarks." That statement seems to boil down to oil. Are America's young men and women dying over there so Chevron, BP, Exon-Mobill, Shell, and K.B.R. can get multi-million (and Billion) dollar contracts? I say Yes, and I think it's disgusting. It's an example of Facism at it's worst. To those who don't know what FACISM is, It's where coprorations weild their political influence to manipulate an enitre government and its armed forces. What do you think? Please respond with well researched answers not talking points and propoganda.

if you're tired of being a couch potato while our country is willingly being invaded, then you need to STAND UP AND SPEAK UP or we are doomed truly. our nation, just as no other nation on earth, can take on this kind of burden. we will go down with the ship, as we are seeing in all of our major cities. the damage is being done and soon, if we don't make our govt change this evil course, we will be fighting in the streets for food. we cannot afford to take in another nations poor. we have 25%of mexico here now and thousands come daily., while our govt takes their dear sweet time argueing with each other like children

Why do some legal dictionaries (and also Wikipedia) define "subpoena" as either an order for a deposition/testimony or an order for deposition/testimony with production of documents ("subpoena duces tecum")? Can't a subpoena be just for production of documents without a deposition/testimony?

Hey guys. I wanna know how churches lost their exclusive right to marry couples as well as what it took for the State to begin marrying couples. Specifically, I'm looking for influences on American civics and culture, but any precursors to American efforts to separate church and state with the ceremony and legality of marriage is fine.

My argument deals with how gay and lesbian couples shouldn't be allowed to get married because I don't believe the State should be allowed to marry couples.

Lately Hillary has been trying hard to be the cure all for everything wrong in this country. Do not be surprized at the next wave of strange things she supports. First she promises jobs after giving our jobs to China. Now she is for the minority women. What about the middle class women that have to get rid of their suv's and get smaller cars to take the kids to soccer.. Is that a campaign promise for January??

why are the alleged crime committers allowed to be present during the selection of jurors.. i think that is ridiculous and it needs to be channged. it was my first time going to jury duty selection yesterday and i was amazed that the alleged criminal was in the court room. the jurors had their names read and gave out personal information about where they live ,where they work, where they reside, where there spouses worked, how old their children were and other personal information all while the alleged was able to take notes on the possible jurors. if i would have been called to the juror box and be questioned by the lawyers and judge i would have said anything and everything possible to be excused. the jurors are possibly puttin there lives in danger. some of the alleged could actually be criminals. and can retaliate easily with the information they are given if they are convicted. does anyone else agree with me????

Has it ever occured to some that just because something is stated from a source other than the one that you are comfortable with or accepting of ......doesn't necessarily make it wrong or right but should give you another avenue to be informed?

It isn't necessarily automatically "propaganda" ....it could be the way it really is or what really happened?

You know... spin on the right ...spin on the left .....and somewhere in the middle lies the truth!

But from which source is the question?
Sometimes the actual "truth" doesn't come the source you usually listen to!

As I was filling out new employee information for a new job, I came across a form titled, "Nondisclosure Agreement." This agreement states that an employee may not "duplicate, disclose, or use in any other manner" "confidential information" which "may include but not be limited to information concerning (Business) business methods and practices, personnel, customers....." "In the event of any actual or threatened breach of this Agreement, in addition to any other legal remedies which may be available, (Business) may seek and obtain injunctive relief against such breach or threatened breach without proof of actual damages..." What shocks me the most about this document is that it seemingly allows the employer to press charges on an employee who publicly discusses unethical business practices. Is this not a blatant violation of the First Amendment? Please state any credentials (i.e. attorney) and please say whether or not this document has any legal legitimacy in the state of NY.

First of all, for all those idiots that go out in walk outs and protesting marches. PLEASE STOP! Don't make us look bad any further than you have already done. I'm Mexican myself, but these marches don't seem to be clear of what we want. These prostesting demonstrations shouldnt be a nationality pride march. We should be demonstrating that we have assimilated to the American culture, and we should be given the opportunity to live here. In addition, wearing a Ski Mask is the most stupidest move for any of us. So PLEASE STOP. No more walk outs or protesting. Make the best out the education you are receiving, because it is the most powerful tool in our hands. Listen for all those, that respond with the whole "Do it the right legal way" deal. Our country is corrupt, the education most of us receive is hardly anything past 8th grade level, Not to be mean, but they are IGNORANT. They do not know any better, how would it be possible to become a law-abiding human in those conditions?
