limestone - you do realize that if/when this happens, the US will have no sovereignty - as in no constitution/bill of rights, and laws. That means they can write a new constitution and implement communism and a police state.

No, it will take longer than that. If King Bush pushes his amnesty bill through Congress then it could happen sooner. There is a provision in the Shamnesty bill that advances the NAU. Many people are growing wise to the threat on US and Canadian sovereignty and will fight this. If this happens, forget about building a fence on our border. Mexicans will be able to come to the US and Canada without a passport, as easily as a New Yorker travels to New Jersey.
We must stop this from happening. For more info, check the sites below.

I think it will be longer than 2011. Probably more like 2030 or so.
Canada has to fall apart first. The SS and medicare spector has to hit the federal govt. second (which will require an influx of people paying into the system in order to keep it solvent). And by then the Mexican economy should be in somewhat better shape than it is now, and thus the US govt. will have the influx of people it needs paying into the system.
However, I get the feeling that by that point, most world govts. will be completely irrelevant and/or completely beholden to major corporations.
I fear the major corporations taking over everything much more than I do a strong Federal govt.

finally a team of clever human beings. in many cases you have somebody make a stupid remark and have no clue. in the failed immigration invoice grew to become into the authority to proceed with the Spp. Bush is going to Canada on August 21 to fulfill with Canada's president and Mexico's president. I examine the draft Arlen Specter made for the recent invoice even regardless of the undeniable fact that that's been pulled off the internet. in the recent invoice it additionally had authority for the Spp. They understand that immigration won't remember because of fact all of Mexico could pass here, because of open borders. native land protection is having a instruct of power now yet have not got self belief it.

After the divide it will take 3 years or less, then we will be in a civil war again. So no we won't be in the NAU by then. And when "WE THE PEOPLE" when this fight things will be better. It's been too long and many Americans have forgotten how to fight. But just like riding a bike once you start you get the hang of it!
You are either for America or you are against it!

The SPP and the NAU proposals will die upon election of the next President. People are awake and paying attention now and beginning to voice their outrage.

It will if we are apathetic or complacent. The plans for a North American Union are very real. We need to be alert and stay on top of the situation.

2010, if the powers that currently exist have their way.
The only way that won't happen is if the citizens of the US and Canada wake up and decide to take our respective countries back from the "shadow government" who now runs them.

happens bring bill of rights with U.S. and use what each nation has to protect rights. would not change much just name flag maybe for Union and three separate ones for each nation. more would be lost by the other two than U.S. if strong envirionmental protections emplaced and electric powered vehicles to replace other types emissions reductions between all. guarantees for protection of workers not likely. likely held to vote defeated each time like European UNION constitution only different.

No. Even if there were serious proposals to do that, it would take at least a decade of treaty negotiations to achieve a North American Union. The only real candidtes for membership would be Canada and the US anyway--Mexico would more logically become part of a Central American Union, an entity much more likelty to come about.
