My stepmother fell and broke her rib. She is a retired nurse and knew there was nothing they could really do but she went to the ER hoping to get something for the pain. She waited 3 hours and said she just couldn't sit there anymore because of the pain so she went and told the receptionist to take her name off the waiting list because she was going to go home . The receptionist told her to sign a form for medicare. My stepmother asked her why? The receptionist said "so the bill can be sent to medicare" She said why would a bill be sent to medicare I never saw a doctor.? The woman replied that was standard procedure. She asked if medicare was aware that they were being charged for people who never even saw a doctor? The woman replied "yes". I asked my doctor about this and he said yes they do it everywhere. Wow! How do you feel about taxpayer money being thrown away like this?

Simple question - given that things are getting bad in the USA with expensive food, gas, healthcare and so on, are Americans crossing the border into Mexico for a better lifestyle? Since there is no extradition treaty between Mexico and the US, any American immigrants would not be deported back to the US. Some Americans are already living on the other side of the US border for a fraction of what they would pay in the US.

Does anyone else remember in the 1990's when Gas prices were a lot lower, But for those of us who lived paycheck to paycheck how hard it was to come up with $5.00 to put in your tank? But now the Gas prices are outrageous, yet it's nothing to whip out your bank card and fill up? Now $5.00 is nothing to scrape up... But $5.00 in my tank won't get me down the street... I'd say now it's hard to scrape up $30.00 to put in my tank.... But I still manage to do it. where as in the 90's I sometimes couldn't do that with $5.00...

Please refrain from the nasty comments.. This isn't a politically motivated question, just curious if anyone else has noticed this? I am not attacking Democrats or Republicans here.. Just give me your opinion.

with May being the deadliest month for us troops in 2.5 years, and kidnapping and sectarian violence at an all time high, why are we not working on a political solution instead of a military one? Even General Petreaus said a military solution is no longer possible. How many more Americans need to die before our government changes the course?

I'm confident I'll make it through the yelling, following orders and physical training but I've always been a giant wuss when it comes to sleep. If I have only a couple of hours a night, I start to lose my mind a little bit and can't function. Is there any free time in between drills or after meals in which one could sneak an hour of sleep? I'm also a very light sleeper, are the barracks filled with 18 year old kids talking or loud snoring? I know it will be tough in many other ways but this is honestly my main concern.

SANTA FE (AP) — The Santa Fe Police Department is considering the possibility of recruiting Mexican nationals to fill vacant police jobs.

Sgts. Gillian Alessio and Marvin Paulk, who are in charge of the department’s recruiting and training, said Tuesday they are considering alternative approaches to fill 20 vacancies on the city’s 155-person police force.

But Police Chief Eric Johnson said New Mexico Law Enforcement Academy regulations prohibit non-citizens from serving as police officers.

“Every day, we get approached by young men and women from Mexico who are in the country legally but are not naturalized,” Alessio said.

“There is a huge pool of people who are dedicated, hardworking and trying to become citizens of this country. They would like nothing better than to devote their time to protecting the communities that they live in,” she said.

Isn't this outrageous? Now the police force wants cheap labor and fakes a shortage.

If someone opposes the death penalty, isn't it clear evidence that they are uncivilized because they place more value on the life of a convicted murderer than they do the life of the innocent victim?

I'am a Power of Attorney in a criminal case of identity theft for my elderly father. The accused is in jail for the crimes and her mom continue to send me harrassing emails. I responded by saying leave me alone and stop sending emails and spammed then. Last week i was told in another email that they wish i was dead and pray that i would die. I ignored it and now just yesterday another email was sent to me asking "AINT YOU DEAD YET?". All emails are from the same screen name from AOL. What can i do about this because they know where i work and where i live. I changed my phone #. I clicked the email address for spam but they made a new screen name on AOL still harrassing me. The criminal case is still in court and the person is awaiting trial or to plead guilty even though they already admitted doing this crime. What can i do as prosecuting witness as well as a power of attorney on this case in a situation like this because i live in florida and the harrasser lives in PA. HELP
